Morris's true test will be this week to see how we go against Cowboys. We lose and he can kiss his job good-bye.

Bull****.

As **** as the Cows are, our first two games were in heavy conditions followed by our last game where players were exhausted. Add to that we could well be without quite a few players.

Yep , could well be a bit flat this week after 3 hard weeks .
But hope not , really need to win this and regroup / recover for the month ahead.

Definitely need to win this one, I'd be amazed if we're not flat though.

There are legit reasons why we have dropped our last 2 games and I have our coach down the list behind bad goal kicking and a shocking injury toll.

We have shown improvement in goal line defense (still missing plenty of tackles in general play), attitude and commitment despite this. Not having JMO see out the season from here would be ludicrous and pointless (+ waste of cash) and in an ideal world he would also have next season to go sans the deadwood and salary cap hogs to really flex his coaching and recruitment chops.

Nikora, Kennedy and J Williams have come out improved players this season. Some of the other young guys are going from strength to strength, Katoa, Brailey, Rudolf and he with his rehab team has somehow managed to keep Dugan and Moylan on the field and made a gutsy call not to play Fifs.

Honestly ask yourself who would come in (particularly at short notice) and do any better with this squad? A Bennet, Bellamy or Robinson would be required to make it worthwhile and they are not available. Not many coaches could make a team with cap tied up in moylan, dugan, woods, fifita ect and good players on the sidelines work all that well but we aren't completely dysfunctional by any means

Hasler, Barret, Payten & Madge all have their teams sitting below us and there will be more coaches to add to that list by seasons end with top 8 still possible.

Not a JMO fanboy but I will give credit where it is due and who da **** does the club have in mind to replace him with?? I think i'm over the idea of Flanno returning but they are off their rocker if they think someone like Ciraldo or Fitz is a better play than just sticking with what we already have.

Understand not everything is peachey under JMO but sticking it out with him for a bit longer wouldn't be a terrible decision either. If we get to the end of the season and havn't made the 8 then yea I could see some justification to go in a different direction . It's Rnd 4 ffs, don't be a dragons or tigers

I’d like to see some rotation next week, even though we have injury problems. Tolman could start for Woods for example, and woods play off the bench. I think with the speed of the game now we need to find games where our best 13 play reduced minutes and we rely on the whole squad a bit more.

Woods, Uele and Rudolph all played 80 minutes off the back two weeks slogging it out in the wet. I can’t see why all three of them can’t take reduced minutes this week.

You can’t win a comp with 13 players anyway, so picking winnable games to give more minutes to guys who have played well so far on reduced minutes makes sense.

Plus the fact that there isn't wholesale bitching around the club or squad, and if anything, a stronger bond forming between the players. Totally agree, not sure what else anyone could do under the circumstances.

gards, good solid points;

I'm sick of the media buzz about JMO. last few weeks each interview with our players. into the JMO questions, jack of it.
patience needed for now

if they cant beat the cowboys then shut our season off and give us the spoon
Premierships are not won in March/April. There is a long way to go and 1st goal is to make 8. From what I have seen we should go close depending on injuries. Other teams will also be hit with injuries and there will be many upsets. Once in finals anything can happen.

It's gonna be a wacky season.

Someone could fall arse backwards into a premiership.

Mate, Sparkles and his friends at the Sunny Field day program could beat the Cowboys.

This will be embarrassing if we get touched up here

Sharks management to players
Sorry , had to let John go , introducing your new coach for 2022 -
SHOULD NOT HAPPEN NOW
Defensive resolve round 2 and 3 absolutely amazing .
Attacking potential all year even when the backline has been forced to reshuffle and adapt due to injuries during games is truly top shelf .
Hat's Off John you're going GREAT and it's obvious the team respects you and has your back.
You've got my vote now - onwards and upwards

Me too. Each individual seems to have improved.

Give him the job and start re-signing some of these players.

I heard a rumour at the game last night that the club was planning for a Bellamy/Fitzgibbon combo. Not sure how true it is but I’d rather a Bellamy/Bomber combo.

Going for a rookie would be stupid, how's that going for the Cows?

Just stick with Bomber.

There’s such a big talk up of these young coaches and then they get lambasted when they don’t work miracles.

Meanwhile, Morris is here chipping away, building block by block and staying competitive with a scenario that could have easily turned to poo.

But yeah, gambling is fun.
