Bloke should be signed tomorrow.

Players are playing for him, defense has improved, ticker and heart is there.

Give him a 2 year extension and let him spend the money and get rid of the ridiculously high priced dead wood(s)
I'm with you. Some need to get over the Flanno love affair and no chance Bellamy is coming unless we want to empty our bank account quickly.

I haven't been Morris biggest supporter. But after tonight and last week's defensive efforts he gets his plaudits from me. 👏

Wtf are you on about? What a ridiculous post.

Here is what I’m on about.
1. He coached the 20’s to the Minor Premiership, breaking all sorts of records but when the pressure was on in the finals they were knocked out in straight sets.
2. His inability to get the side up for big games. How many games has he won over the top sides since he has taken over and how many “milestone” games have we won?
3. His continued selecting of a bench with no creativity and last night for not having a back on the bench.
4. For not reigning in Townsend about his continued ineffective kicking on early tackles.

We can all make excuses for him but good coaches overcome them to have success. If everybody is happy with a good performance but still getting beaten then that’s what we’ll have with Morris. Some people are better assistant coaches than a head coach and I think he’s one of them and like all of you, I’m allowed an opinion.

Personally, I’m with you - Feel like we will always be a bottom 8/mid 8 team with him. As it’s a business Dino and the board wouldn’t count that as a pass mark that’s why I would be suprised if he gets re signed.

He needs to show he can get his players to step up and beat a top 8 team at least, IMO we lost our last two games to bad in game management and in game choice making or at least made it a lot harder to win because of those things, need to fix it - the work he’s done in defence and fitness has been A1 but

Good club coaching doesn’t come down to one-off performances.

It’s about building systems, standards, confidence and trust over time. Especially with where we are in our player cycle at the moment.

I hope we do piss him off though. It’ll be funny when we get the new flavour of the month coach and start getting proper flogged.

I think his doing a pretty good job, he hasn’t had much go his way. We’re playing better than I thought we would this season and are at least competitive, even with all the players out and salary cap disadvantage.

I’d like to see him get a chance with a full salary cap to show what he can do. There is no one else out there better to get anyway and don’t mention Flanno because that ship has sailed

Soooo. Have you officially declined our boards offer then?
I’m still in Bombers corner (for now).
We beat the Dragons (as expected).
We should have beaten the Raiders (but for poor goal kicking and he can’t be blamed for that).
Last night showed guts and willingness from the boys which shows they are playing with pride. This is a good sign that they are responding to the coach.
Happy to hold off on an extension for now but I think if they continue to show that level of determination and willingness they showed last night we will win more than we lose which leads to Bomber deserving an extension.

Put SJ in these teams and we’re undefeated imo.

He’s clearly worked on defence and fitness which shows a clear ability to adapt and identify weaknesses.

Unless we go a proven coach any other options is just stupid.

Give him a year and a pay rise and take it from there .
Couldn't have done more thus far .
Maybe Flanno is the elephant in the room .
No doubt he wants in somewhere next year.

1. Funnily enough it used to be Flanju who got the blame for that. Doesn't perform in big games people said. Then he played a couple of decent games alongside Chad and got poached by Roosters and people forgot. How could we ever let such a faultless player get away? Then Roosters also saw he wasn't a player that could lead them to a Premiership so they paid the Dogs to take him (who gave him a pay raise too). Still some wanted us to get him back. How are the Dogs going?
But let's point the finger at Bomber for that one all of a sudden.
2. We lost plenty of milestone games under Flanno. And some responsibility in big games falls on senior players also, senior players brought in by Flanno who are struggling or retiring and we can't afford to replace.
3. This seems really subjecting because there are plenty calling for a 4 forward bench instead of Tracey each week. Shame on John Morris for having to use our bench back on field because Hiroti was garbage and not predicting we would get 4 injuries including one in the backs. What a dreadful coach.
4. I still maintain there is 0% chance the team we had out there grinds their way to a win in that game. Scoring some cheap points off something unexpected and then holding on for dear life was our only chance to win. Townsend didn't execute well enough to find those sneaky points but he was at least trying to win and not just hold on and grind out an attrition battle we can never win.

You are of course allowed an opinion, seems like a really rough game to blame the coach for though.
A big reason some teams get trapped in mediocrity is they chop the coach every two to three years. No coach gets to build something they are suited to work with. Bomber hasn't had the chance to build **** all yet. Richmond and Hardwick is a great example, took 7 years persisting with him with team bouncing between struggle and early finals exits and then won Prem three times in four years. Could have sacked him years earlier for not getting instant success, and then probably would have gone through another coach or two since and had no premierships.
I think Bomber is headed in the right direction.

If we had anywhere near a reasonable run of luck and a competent goal kicker we'd be 3 - 0 up now. This would be despite all our injuries...

Can't blame the coach for that. No coach in the NRL could do better under the circumstances.

Mate, can’t say I agree with you but you’re certainly entitled to your opinion.

I think though your first post might have been taken a bit better if you’d listed those points then.

Otherwise people think you’re a bit of a troll. Which I’m sure you’re not. 😊

It took Bennett 5 years to win a comp with a star studded Brisbane team, can't believe he wasn't sacked.

Morris's true test will be this week to see how we go against Cowboys. We lose and he can kiss his job good-bye.
