Correct. Considering it faces directly south, you would expect it to be specified to withstand a "worst case scenario" of hurricane strength wind.

Regardless, if the basic engineering design was poor, that would not necessarily matter, a bit like building a castle on quicksand

Thought so....

Beach????.... we are talking about the Grandstand arent we?

Thats what I thought

Correct. Win stadium is directly adjacent to a south facing beach. The stand in question looks directly out to sea

I disagree.

How does the setting sun create a level shadow of the new grandstand on the eastern hill if the sun sets in the west and the stand faces south?

This map is orientated perfectly north south.

South and North beach faces East and so dose most of the east coast.

Swell direction has nothing to do with the Westerly winds which damaged a East facing stand on a southern beach.

Man this is confusing

Agreed. And as per the image Fitz posted, I will stand corrected in the western stand does not stand facing directly south. Just to confuse things further

The Stand has a more Eastily facing angle than the coast does. The stand faces East, no doubt.

Not confusing at all, Fitz made it simple. The stand faces about 110 Degrees, 90 is E.

If we go back to your original comment, I believe there was a hiccup with this line.

I think thats were it all started from.

On a further note, my missus highlighted how the following comment posted was the one with the most common sense, and she doesn't follow footy at all:

just like the dragons cracks under pressure
