Imo there are only two fullbacks in the NRL who can play like that, and the other one is playing halfback for the Sharks.

Lots of converted 6's playing fullback in the NRL. Run-first players with a decent passing game. Ponga, Gutho, Walsh to name a few.

Drinky is the only one who played halfback consistently coming through the system. He was Aus schoolboys as a #7 and he split time between 1, 6 and 7 in cup. I've had a man crush on Drinky since 2017.
Drinky is pretty amazing in full form. Have to admit to first having that thought about Nicho. I still think Will could work as that roving, playmaker fullback, though I don't think it's our current style

I assume some who have these strong opinions about Will are either going to watch this weeks game and/or rewatch some old games focusing specifically on him and give an unbiased appraisal of his positioning through all our sets and consideration as to what role he may be playing by being in that spot.

Unless that happens "I don't know where he is or what he's doing but it's not what I want" is fine as an opinion, just kind of feels like half the info is missing.

I think you'd find instances of Kennedy backing up, but like you're brailey example they aren't consistent enough for us to convert half chances when they occur.

I'd like to see all our spine/team looking for more opportunities in this space. Would also help to have a little more pace in the side.

There are plenty of examples of good fullbacks doing it, but I think Ezra is another great example at the moment. He seems to score more off backing up than anyone in the league.

Agree with all of that, especially us lacking pace. We really don't have a fast game breaker which is a shame.

Ronnie was clocked to be the fastest in the NRL last year, so theoretically we do.

As in he reached the highest speed in a game? A stat that sounds good, but the eye test can tell you he isn't even in the top 5 when it counts.

Maybe he can reach the fastest pace, but can't maintain it for more than 10 metres or so. There's no way he is above guys like Fox, Saab, Koula, Young, Hammer, Savage, Stains, Sloan, Khan Pereira, Munro.

Even the next tier of guys like Dearden, Metcalf, Ponga, Coates, Garrick seem quicker in game.

Love Ronnie, and not saying he's slow, but you don't watch a season of him play and think his pace is his best attribute.

Don’t disagree with any of that.
👍
Just referring to the stats previously provided and hence the use of “theoretically” in my post (but maybe I should have used “apparently according to NRL records”)

No matter how fast he is, Ronnie is also unlikely to be pushing through the middle third of the field any time the Sharks are outside their own 40. Needs to be the 1, 6 or 7.

... or closer to an edge, your centre. Without Olam pushing up that Api run is just an OK scoot.

Nicho is good at it, but usually the guy throwing the pass to make the break. Tricky is good at it, but not fast (Moyza was the same).

**** no. I know what I see/don't see. I don't need graphs, stats & other bullshit. If you do then knock yourself out doing the extras

You didn't, but just in case I did some extras. What you wanted is covered under section 3; 'Other Bullshit'
Someone, not specifically you, to closely watch a player they are criticising?

That is some bullshit by forum standards, I agree

You asked for a little more than that:

If you're referring to me, I have watched him closely live.
I wasn't referring to anyone specifically, which is why I didn't quote or tag anyone.
What is he usually doing when he should - per comments on here - be supporting the runner for an offload?

I don't know what the answer is, hopefully something useful like setting up or being ready in backlines.

I know and agree what he is not doing, which was being spoken about. I am wondering what he is doing instead.
