Who would you sign for a few more years of the players contracts up for 2013

With the article from daily telegraph of the players who are up of contract from sharks and other teams who would you sign for more years?

For me I would sign best, tupuo, graham, Stapleton, Gordon and Townsend from our guys, while I would see if we can get michael Gordon from panthers, Greg bird from titans, beau Scott from dragons, Bryson Goodwin from bulldogs and Dane Nelson from the storm.

Best and Gordon I would definately not sign - Best cause of age and Gordon cause he is a loose cannon , Tupou only if we couldn't get a replacement in Bird or someone else of the build and skill. Stapo yes as a back up and would definately keep JMO. Would let Cordoba go unless he has a good year this year otherwise he is only a backup for depth. Graham and Townsend would be the only ones from that list I would 100% sign for the rest of their lives if we could.

instead of tupou spend that on getting birdy back

instead of Best, Stapleton and Gordon i would use that money from those 3 players and buy 2 good centres or a centre and a winger

I would definately re-sign Hotdog who was not on that list to be our other winger

keep townsend and graham,

replace Tupou with Bird

replace best, stapleton, gordon, with Dane Neilson and then wither Mitch Brown, Steve Turner or Bryson Goodwin

i would definately re sign both graham & townsend. topou i would also like to re sign
but only if we could re sign for a lot less than his current contract. morris i would let
go because de gois can play 80 minutes & we have signed robson for 2 years & we do not
need 2 back up hookers his money could be better spent else where, i would also let best
go cause of his age. the others would have to improve a lot to justify re signing but regardless
of form some of these players may need to be re signed as there is no point in letting a player
go if there is not a better player to replace him.

Just remember guys its not just us wanting to sign players, its players wanting to sign with us. 2012's season performance and the developments approval are both HUGE factors in who we sign for 2013 and beyond. If we finish bottom of the table again, signing big name, or great talent players from other clubs with prove difficult, a team like melbourne will want to hold on to Neilson, and for him to come here, from a great team, is going to take alot of folding stuff. Noone wants to lose. We only got Carney because noone else wanted him, on a normal day, he'd not have signed with us.

I hope 2012 shapes up and delivers the way i think it might. Not a premiership, but no more bull**** 10 game losing streaks, just flat out competitive footy. If we lose, i wanna know we lost by playing well. You can handle that, but not when they just play ****.

Graham must stay, he's got alot of talent, sign him now before the season starts or he WILL be poached. Townsend would be great also, he wouldnt get a run in 1st's at any other club, so NSW cup for him till he gets his **** sorted

At this point in time Id only re-sign Tupou, Graham and Townsend.
As for Gordon and Stapleton depends on this year. I rate Gordon but needs to improve a couple areas.
Dont rate Stapleton at all, needs to show something this year to win a new contract for mine.

They're not listed there but Peachey, Frizell and Pickerd are the other three we need to keep. Townsend I thought signed a two year deal this year. Graham is a must. Tupou... depending on price. He may not be one of our best four backrowers by the end of next year.

I nearly put in "tupou if cheap"

BUT,

As you said he might not be one of our best 2nd rowers by next season end, and when we have Peachey & Frizell coming through I would rather spend the money elsewhere.

For example, say he wanted 275K, I would rather save that and chuck it towards a 700-800K offer for Cronk
