Benji Marshall doesn't look like getting another contract at Tigers,

He has a lot of friends here

They will release him for sure! Carney and benji...sounds good too me. He also might play a bit better with beau here. Benji a shark in 2014!

No thanks the money we would spend in comparison to the results he'd bring it wouldn't be worth it.

benji is far to expensive. we just need to keep it simple and recruit for what we need and we will be a legitimate premiership threat.

I would be keen on Benji to play halfback, he brings a great kicking game which we are desperate for,

Saying this it would have to be for the right price for example: less than what carney is on!
He would have to "want" to play for us because dragons, panthers & warriors would all be willing to pay close to $1m and we could offer closer to the 600k mark possibly

In his current form I'd offer him a one year contract on $400,000.

I'd only offer $400,000 because his form is unbelievably down and I wouldn't want him on big dosh and not performing to his abilities. I also wouldn't offer him more than a year because I feel we can't afford to have another Toupu* at the club.

* Player in poor form on an expensive and lengthy contract.

He'd need to take a massive pay cut and i'm sure he'd be willing to if it meant playing with the ex tigers that we have here. In the 600k range. That's only if we have the money after getting our outside backs upgraded.

It's not only the danger he presents on the field but he's the sort of guy who'd attract new fans, just like beau has.

For us to afford him I really think he would need to step down to the 500k sort of mark and I doubt that would happen.

In your head, rent free
if we get a cheap jordan kahu, and feki can prove to be a consistant winger, plus ricky leutele, you could gamble on a todd/benji halves combo

After posting that i've done a u turn, he'd negate todd's effectiveness massively.

Make sure we have the money for kahu, wolfman and another centre and if depending on what we have left, sam williams is the first choice, trent hodkinson would be the cheaper option or we persist with chad and robbo to fight for the halves spot.

Having Carney and Benji together would be like a band with 2 lead guitarists. Sometimes it works but generally the lead guitarist is better complimented by a good rhythm player (eg ACDC's Malcolm Young)

We could never ever fit Benji, Carney, Gallen, Lewis in the salary cap.

If TC had left I reckon there would of been a good chance of it though

We need to strengthen other areas. Would be a waste of money IMO
We just need a good organising half to partner toddy boy
I would much rather that as well. He doesn't suit the needs of our team in any way.
If we can sign Hodkinson/Williams, a good bench prop, a very good centre and a young bloke or two who has potential in the backs I'd be very happy.

Bryan Norrie is off contract at the storm, he is a decent bench prop.
