Minimal changes at this time of year IMO. Obviously if Gal and Taga are fit you find room for them. But a settled team is essential this time of year.

Capewell can play centre so no need for beale imo

14. Capewell
15. Bukuya
16. Heighno
17. Taga/JSL[/QUOT

That would be my choice as well if playing Cowboys, and i would lean to TAGA over JSL. If Broncos i would keep beale and drop Capewell.

The back on the bench thing has proven to be handy a few times throughout the year. Capewell was terrific last night will be hard to flick him tbh.think I'd run with Bakuya. Heino, Beale and Capewell on bench

depending on fitness of Gal and Taga its hard to say.

If Gal and Taga are out, id have our starting side from last night run out

Heighno JSL Capewell and Nu on the bench.

Nothing against Beale, but i really think he's been a bit of a chink in the armour of late

Bukuya and Heighno are certainties.

I reckon Tagatese gets picked if he's fit.

So it's between Beale and Capwell for the last spot imo.

I'd go with Capwell.

Beale has all the impact of a wafer cracker, I would go with MB's side but swap out Beale for Taga

As someone already posted if Flanno wants to shift Bird to lock or 5/8 at some point Lewis can shift to centre ect - If that's what Flanno does we may be rolling the dice and chasing points late in the game anyway (although aware of his comments regarding his plans for Bird last night)
It's not ideal but would hope we get one of those special line breaks or big hits from Taga as the trade off (only need one to swing momentum). And bench looks too small without him particularly if we have to face up against Tomolololol and his Cowboys

I don't think Beale should be carried on presumption of Chad having a bad one although Chad isn't inspiring alot of confidence in his form of late let's hope he comes good and trains the house down for a few weeks

Tough leaving Paulo out as his hit ups have improved significantly and his ruck defense would be an asset when Prior is off so he would probably be my 18th man

Once we get momentum and the defense on the back foot our agile pack comes into it's own absolutely carving up the metres in the middle and through the ruck, not just with power but with speed and ball playing ability

Is there a chance Paulo is back?

Paulo is ordinary in the middle. He's OK on an edge, but has had some very poor missed tackles in the middle.

I remember when Gallen was in career best form and the Kumuls were also creating a stir. Someone was saying that short muscly forwards were hard to get on the ground and made good metres after contact. It is definitely a thing. I think there is a rock paper scissors aspect to League that often goes overlooked.

Yep for sure.

I heard Paul Green interviewed once where he was talking about the Cowboys forwards.

He said that one of the reasons for their pack's success is that they aren't all the same build. You need to tackle a big tall guy differently to a shorter stocky guy. Having the different body shapes running at you is exhausting and requires a little bit more concentration.

As frustrated as I get with Taga, I'd still be picking him for his size. I'd probably drop Beale and keep Capewell. Probably have Lewis or Wade move to centres if there was an injury.

they just have a lower centre of gravity too. Out of all my mates the hardest to get on the ground was pretty much the shortest

Yea and you look at someone tall like Taga and he gets chopped down right on the spot around those legs of his (although this can be good for a quick play the ball). Blokes like Gallen nearly always make an extra metre or 2 after initial contact with their core and legs continuing to pump
