I am interested to know others thoughts on what should happen when Buster and Kearney are available from injury..(i know they are a few weeks away from being fit and alot can happen in that time...but we are crystal balling here..) .

taking into account Porter and Stapleton are playing well, learning and growing into better players - should they be placed back a grade to let kearny and buster back into the side or do you stay with these young guys...........

if you were coach what would you do .....

ME - leave porter at half back - Kearney is great when healthy - put kearney at fullback when he is available and stapleton on the wing...goodwin on the other wing and Fergo at outside centre - wright inside centre.. thats a fast young backline with alot of potential....!

I'd keep Stapleton and Porter in and Kearney on the bench and Seymour to NSW Cup initially and then see where to go from there. It's always good to have someone waiting to get back into 1st grade. It keeps the current 1st graders on their heels.

Right now I'd leave both Porter and Stapleton in. Buster and Kearney back to NSW Cup to earn their spots back through form.

Porter is a KEEPER! The bloke has come in and really added some spark to our team whcih is well needed. Unfortunatley this has come at the expense of Buster. Same can be said for Kearney

Kearney is out for the season, so we don't need to make that decision until next year.

Buster should come back in to NSW Cup. Same for Goodwin and (if he plays) Ross.

We've tried so many positions and combinations this year that have failed. We should stick with one that works. If we suffer an injury in the backline we have Brown to fill in anywhere from #1-#5 and Goodwin

The NSW Cup team should win the comp with all of the first grade experience they have - especially if Kearney makes a surprise comeback.

1. Kearney/Brown
2. Simmo
3. Caine
4. Goodwin
5. Misi
6. Seymour
7. Green
8. Ross
9. Hughes
10. Donnelly
11. Pomeroy
12. Verlinden
13. Killingbeck

I would start Kearney in the NSW cup after such a long lay off.

Seymour should probably come back to halfback unless Sharks are still undefeated under Porter in round 16. if that is the case then i dont think Ricky has a choice and has to reluctantly send Seymour to NSW Cup temporarily as well. Until Porter loses.

when both fit kearney and stapelton both have to be in team maybe stapelton could play centre allowing williams to go back to the forwards, i would like to see buster tried at hooker to see if he can provide the attacking flair that degois provided last year.

when seymour comes back he should start off in nsw cup. he obviously wont be that confident after having the his knee problems (showed at the start of the year) so he should start there. scott porter doesnt deserve to lose his spot with the way he has instantly clicked with barrett in the halves. or maybe even send buster back to park footy and make another glorious comeback. it worked once before:p

and as far as i know kearney is done for the year. but even if he was to come back early staples doesnt deserve to lose his spot either

Everyone is saying season but he is a chance for a comeback in the round 20's. Probably very close to the end of the season.

I hope he can and then has a full pre-season under his belt for next year.

Nah he isnt available this year as they had to put a pin in his ankle, which ruled out any comeback this year.

So why would you bring back people who havent played for the season to replace people who are winning games for us? Sounds like what we always do and thats one of the main reasons we get so close but lose it at the end

If you consider our best 3 performances recently (Penrith, Parra, NZ) the common threads are:

Williams in the centres
Ferguson on the wing
Caine starting at hooker and Seu Seu on the bench

I don't want to change any of these things. If they want to use Buster in #9 or #13 he should play 4-5 games there in NSW cup to see how he goes first.

Kearney would make a great hooker.. got speed to burn along with great footwork!! keep Stapleton at fullbak and Porter at halfback and Seymour could either play in the halves or at hooker so id def keep him around!

Both into NSW Cup. Kearney is a waste of time IMO. He is a great player but breaks like a piece of chalk. Buster is also good but just isnt a no 7. His best position is five eight and Barrett is a lot better than Buster.

If you told someone this will be your 1st grade side midway thru this year at the beginning of the year, no one would question it?

You don't change a winning team.
So Gallen goes back to NSW cup then? :D

Yeah and Gallen get 20 hitups for 300 metres, 8 offloads, 6 line breaks, 35 tackles and 3 tries so Stick puts him in the team next week.
