Hot streak starting with the panthers next week. We will be there come finals time.

I'm legitimately worried about the Panthers game.

Feki will be marking Simmons, and I'm not saying this because I'm a fan of David, but he could legitimately run riot all night with Soward's cross field kicks if Feki doesn't bring his A game.

Feki reminds me of Thompson from the Bulldogs. Solid defender who runs hard, has good footwork and can find the line... Yet is terrible in the air and look what happened when the Panthers faced the Dogs. Simmons made the guy look terrible when the ball went in the air.

We need to learn how to run legitimate block plays, when the high ball goes up there is absolutely no protection for whoever is taking the ball. Other teams make it near impossible to get near the high ball.

As always it comes down to having a useless coaching staff, and while I'm on a rant when is the defence going to ****ing start moving up. Seemed like every set of 6 the roosters had they were kicking from inside our 30 because we let them march downfield with ease.

Agreed. I don't remember at any stage the Roosters having a long range kick from their half as they always got over our 40 metre line and were able to put up attacking kicks.

I can't remember having such a bad start to the season, i think we will struggle to make the eight. We needed to win last night...
Anyone know what the crowd figures were last night?

Did anyone watch the press conference and think our coach/captain are delusional?!?!

Three weeks ago gal spoke about the fact that when replacement 'teacher' is around not everyone is there and focused. I felt like shaking him. If my managers, who by the way are not on $850k per year, do not perform even if I were away for a couple of months they would get the ass. Most shark fans earn $60k per year and could not ever afford to switch off at work even if the boss were away because they would get fired! I could not believe the defeatest, unprofessional attitude.

Now I need to listen to a press conference where the leadership praise the effort but are gutted to lose 'especially given the effort'. Well einsteins, effort is your obligation week in week out. That word should never even be discussed. It is a basic EXPECTATION. Gal and Sharp, Execution is why you get paid $850k a year. If it was just effort my 11 year could run on. He tries hard each week in the u11s. Kicking was diabolical, our defensive line is not moving up, they completed 2sets LESS than us but ran 280m more?!? 40 mistackles.

My son's team lost 30-0 yesterday. I wasn't happy because they did not follow the basics the coach spoke about. One of the parents said to me 'they competed though'. I remembered my son was only 10. No doubt the effort was there. Gal/sharp, you're not playing u11s. A lack of effort, or conversely a lot of effort should not be part of a debrief. Most players should be castigated for their execution last night.

As for my thoughts on 2014. Until we stop talking like freaking losers we will do nothing. Players coming back won't change the culture (they are all there at training). And as fans we should stop accepting mediocrity. Maybe then sponsors will come.

Sorry for the ranr

Most of us don't accept mediocrity that's why we come in here filthy as bat **** at our squad, coaching staff and club and recommend our own changes and insights knowing full well we are not in power to implement them and that's its really just fantasy
They are the paid "professionals" who are meant to be doing the good work to win us football games and build a stronger club

As fans there is only so much we can do (attend games, vote, support club financially ect) but us not accepting the team being poor on it's own won't change much. Case in point season 2014

My comment was never aimed at supporters. On saturday I asked keogh when he will start acting like mike wrublewski (who managed the sydney kings during his time). Mike was not the coach but his dummy spits at players was legendary and he never just accepted 'effort'

I want all our fans to say this to the leadership of our club at every opportunity. The sponsors are certainly starting to talk with their feet

Exactly. Who wants to have their brand associated with mediocrity. Asada was also a product of a 'she'll be right' attitude.

we are coming last 7 weeks in. 7 weeks in last year we werent in the top 8 either. We came 5th. Parra have 2 consecutive spoons and have some serious sponsor dollars coming in. On field performance is only a part of the deal.

News outlets like the Daily telegraph are continually putting the boot in us. Lets look at some of the negative stories

We eradicate our bank debt by transferring it to a private bidder (for lower interest). This was ridiculed and written about in a negative way, when in actual fact its a very smart business move for the club.

ASADA allegations, yes the club got itself in this situation, but at this stage everything is allegations and we are being dragged over the coals.

Fifita signs at the bulldogs, apparently thats the start of the player exodus from the club.

Fifita in talks with the club again, the club is stupid for considering it.

The media ruins our image with continuous negative twists to anything and everything to do with the club. Whether we were 1st of last, if the only time teams were seen in the NRL was when they were actually playing, you'd have no trouble finding a sponsor.

I have heard that Pain Away have/had told the club if ASADA verdict comes down in a positive way for the club (ie no sanctions) they will go front and centre on the jersey.

I understand what you say bwb. But after so many years of consistent inconsistency we have to look at ourselves not the media. Asada was never going to happen to anyone but the sharks. A colleague of mine told me the club is cursed. I'm not that superstitious. We are masters of our own destiny and our leadership over decades has not been good enough.

As an older supporter I just don't want to hear about effort, no excuses (not even media). Just results. That's it.

but every team is consistently inconsistent. Except maybe Melbourne and Manly.

Roosters, Souths, Sharks, Broncos, Knights, Bulldogs, Eels, Titans, Warriors, Dragons, Cowboys, Panthers, Tigers and Raiders havent consistently performed over the last 5 years. Manly and Melbourne are the only teams that you can pretty much safely put money on to make the top 4 each year.

i agree with the last part. But its a sport. There can only be 1 winner. It sucks it isnt us right now, but the last 2 years it usually was. Even if this year is a write off, i dont see it continuing next year or the year after.

Stick a fork in us, we're done.

I admire those who still hold hope of us making the 8 but you're living in la la land. No chance we have the ability to go on a winning streak. In saying that I'll still be cheering us on every week.

Elevate Holmes now and get a game or two into him. Start looking to the future ffs.

The team are running on empty. They have nothing to offer. Some players arent what they used to be like Graham, Gordon, Fifita
