I don't think the reduced interchange is going to make that much of an impact, and I don't think we need a utility player as I'd start barba at fullback.

Possibly not in isolation, but coupled with the shot clock (or whatever it's called) for scrums and drop outs I think there will be an impact.

Be nice to have a kamikaze forward, someone who lives for chopping people in half.

I don't care how big or small they are, as long as they intimidate.

Taga was like that for us at certain stages during the season.

For sure, but I think that it will speak to the advantage to having a bench full of mobile forwards, rather than big units, thats about it. I really think heighno will have as much of a chance to open up a tired pack as nu brown will. Plus gives us the advantage of being able to continue to win the ruck.

I just look at how having a utility worked for us this year, which IMO it didnt. I dont think these changes are going to make it worth while either and I'd prefer to run with the full forward bench.

Yeah I wouldn't even call Barba a utility. To me someone that can cover positions in the backs and forwards is s utility, like Aubusson for example. Will be interesting. All that will happen next year is a player will go down with an injury if his team needs a rest. Hopefully the NRL aren't dumb enough to not realise this.

I also love the player that Wade Graham is becomming... My god he looked damaging towards the back end of this season.

I think he will grow a heap more with a quality half inside him. Hopefully he won't be thrown under the bus on the last and is pressured to kick.

Agreed, that is when he makes the wrong decisions imo. He is a ball runner more then a ball player.

If he has to kick, he has to pretend the 10m line is the dead ball line. He always gets the driver out to putt.

Yeah Aubusson is a good example. But even then, if it were a team other than the Roosters than I'd say it'd be a waste to have such a good player starting on the bench to cover injuries. He should be an 80 minute edge second rower.

I think the bench utility is a bit of a waste unless it's like a 2nd hooker that can run out of dummy half.

Agreed. I can't believe he re signed. I reckon he was banking on Tamou moving on which didn't happen.

After the loss to the Cows and watching the Brisbane v Easts game last night....we're probably a lot further away than what I initially thought.

There's a huge difference between our good and bad games which is worrying. At stages we looked like genuine contenders than when things aren't going our way we look utterly hopeless.

This is my concern with flanagan, he will get us to the top 8 but he doesn't seem to be proactive and be able to formulate a plan against the very best teams. Seems to just be a hope that we win the grind and the rest follows off that regardless of who we're playing. This worked against the roosters and cowboys throughout the season but the cowboys worked us out fairly easily when it mattered.

We need a good kicking game.

AND a young second rower / prop to cover our ageing forward pack.

AND Gal to play 60 minutes in the middle of the field only.

That should do it.

Im expecting my hopes to be mild early before the team goes on a run and gets fans to believe this could be the year.
then we **** the bed and drop out of the race with a out of nowhere cronullafied performance, leaving me with that empty hollow feeling ive come to know so well.

Forgot props, halves or a decent coach. This team needs a miracle to pop our cherry.

Yes and when other teams throw the ball around their passes seem to stick whereas when we do it, you're hearts in your mouth just waiting for that dropped ball. I think that seems to suggest we don't do enough ball work at training. It certainly looks that way when we're in the oppositions 20, most of the time we have no plans whatsoever.
