Carey must be very close to getting the chop
Good inning by Marnus, but ill say again, why did it take people to question his place in the team for him to finally pull a decent inning out? Is it a motivation issue? Complacency? Seems to be a trend with quite a few in this team.

Its ****ing happened again!

Anyway, well played Marsh, Cummins and of course Carey. The top order needs a boot up their arses, our next series is the home India series, we will NOT get away with **** batting against them.

Also another test series against an opponent who needs to unearth some talent, another fantastic bowling prospect. Ben Sears is one to watch.

There seems to be always a couple blokes who save us
Any given test pretty much anyone between Usman, Marnus, Green, Head, Marsh or Carey will settle in a put up enough runs.
Pretty awkward we can't include our opener in there and one of the next most likely to drop off is the second batsman.

Gotta hope whoever's turn it is to save us on a given innings doesn't miss their assignment...

Patty said in the interview he didnt know Alex was on 98. But also said ‘any means necessary’, so I don’t think it wouldn’t of mattered if he knew or not with their team first approach, the runs were there, he was going to take them to wrap up the game.

Yep, team comes first before any individual platitudes.

Had he let it go, Carey could have got out in the next over and not outside the realms of possibilities that Lyon and Hazlewood could have been dismissed cheaply.

Take the runs when they are there.

Nz have been on the decline now since they own the WTC.

Time for them to go out and get a new coach. Southee needs to retire and they need to find a new captain.

Complete rebuild is required. Too many players there that aren’t performing yet continue to get picked. Coach not picking a spinner for that first test was just laughable. Too many bad decisions have been made so time for the man in charge to step down.

They should try get McCullum somehow. And then get Fleming in there along with Shane Bond and Vettori. Surround their squad with previous players like Astle, McMillian, Harris, Martin etc.. similar to what Australia do.

Oliver Davies ready for an opportunity in the middle of the order for our test team if it presents itself
