Cronk is the one to go after, still only 25 plenty of football left him, not injury prone, and a true 7, even if it cost 600k, I would pay it, because Dougie, Snow, Toops, Gal, and Cronk are a GREAT base for the future, then you can bring a young 6 like Kelly or Graham, etc along with a Australian player inside him, just look before he got injured and started being a knob Seymour was with Noddy in 2008, worked well, till the wheels fell off.

I really have doubts whether he would be a good fit for us, maybe wrong but some thing is telling me stay away.

aggghhh great white as a man with his finger very close to the clubs pulse pls give me your gut feel on who you think the club will be able to get to sign on the dotted line in regards to our recruitment!!!!

we as a club really quickly in my opinion need to announce someone of some note real soon to get some good press and as much as 'flake n chips' leaving is sad the club need to act as if its not the end of the world because im sure there is nothing he would like more than us pleading with him to stay!!!!

Cronk would be good anywhere he goes!

If we got him it would be unbelieveable.

Saying that he is suppoable already on $550 on the books and 200 off the books.

Meaning we probably have to pay AT LEAST $750 to get him to Cronulla. Otherwise a heap of clubs would probably offer $550 and he would go there before us.

Pom i rate cronk highly, maybe the most consistent half in the comp.
Some halves need a certain type of player outside them ,over the years he has had some very good running backs, we dint have that luxury.
Maybe if we had a running 5/8 or if cronk would have a better running game.
Some players just dint fit certain clubs, Vagana, to lesser degree Kimmorly, Ross IMO they just weren't good fits.
Most probably get shot for this but i would look at Finchy.
Young Graham has potential but there in lies the problem.
Hell maybe he would be a good fit but as far back as i can remember i cannot ever remember us sighing a star player and he got better or just dominated games.
Maybe considering our financial situation we could spend 500plusk better.

Graham upbeat despite contract stress
BEN HORNE
July 10, 2010 - 2:00PM

Penrith playmaker Wade Graham is upbeat about his NRL season despite contract talks indicating he may be on the verge of leaving his junior club.

The Panthers are close to securing a long-term deal with star centre Michael Jennings, and will then focus on re-signing NSW debutant Michael Gordon and Kiwi second rower Frank Pritchard.

If all that comes through, it will make it difficult for the Panthers to hold on to promising playmaker Graham, who has been a schoolboy and lower-grade star out west.

North Queensland are leading the charge to sign Graham, with Cronulla also in pursuit, however the 19-year-old said he is far from worn down by pressures of contract negotiation.

Graham has finally cemented his place permanently in the Panthers No.6 jersey and is focused on giving his side a lift into the finals.

"I wouldn't say (contract talks) have been a distraction," Graham told AAP.

"They've been there, it's been weird because I've never had to really deal with it on the big scope before.

"Now it's out there and Penrith have a lot of boys off-contract and there's a bit of interest from other clubs but probably the bonus for me is it's like the start of my season.

"I missed three to four months with my shoulder surgery and then I spent another month in (reserves) trying to get back in the team and now I'm back, it's like my season is just kicking off.

"Obviously I've got some big decisions to make but I'm pretty calm at the moment."

The Blacktown City junior admits he hasn't heard much from Penrith at this stage but said if they can manage a competitive deal his preference would be stay.

Graham is in no rush but won't let things drag out too long.

"I think they're trying to get a deal done with Jenko now, I think that's pretty close to getting done," he said.

"Obviously they have Frankie and Micky but I'm going to have to sort something out because I haven't really heard much for Penrith yet.

"I'm a Penrith boy through and through, I'd love to stay.

"If we can get something done where I can stay then obviously that's going to be my first choice here because this is where my home is, my family, I grew up my whole life just wanting to play for Penrith."

Jerome Ropati will again start at fullback for the Warriors with Lance Hohaia ruled out with injury.

Could all just be crap talk, but people on LU are saying Wade Graham to the sharks is 'almost certain' due to the Cowboys having belief in Taumata and Thompson to fill the #6. Could just be blowing wind, so take it with a grain of salt but thought I'd post it.

Unfortunately the bloke who posted that rumour is a Grade A dribbler.

I really hope we sign this kid.
He will be a great addition to our team even though his attitude might not be best.

We can build a team around and with him.
