Samshark actually makes me laugh... I always imagine him as some depressive Coach of a junior side giving a monotone pre-game rev-up speech to a team about to run out onto the field.

You know... with harsh critical observations of their abilities, inadequacies, failings, "realisms" and all that.

"... ok you're probably not going to win... in fact, you'll probably get smashed because they're so much better than you... and they're probably going to hurt you a lot too... you might want to win but that's unlikely... because you suck and you disappoint me and you don't live up to my expectations... so go out there and play your best and I'll see you at halftime to say "I told you so" and by the way did anyone else bring the oranges because I certainly didn't want to waste my time doing that... anyway, off you go..."

Maybe "Glumshark" might be a better name.

Way off there Fitz, kids team I coached this year actually went through undefeated and I got coach of the year for the second year running.

I prefer the term realist instead of pessimist. Yeah look, you guys can make your wise cracks and Ill admit I was wrong in a couple of comments Ive made on this forum so Ill cop them on the chin. At the end of the day I love this club as you guys do and have done so for 40 years. I just dont buy into the fluff.

As for next year I dont have high expectations and personally I dont think an awful lot will change playing wise. I hope I am wrong, pray to be wrong. Either way Ill still be there with my season ticket seats. I do think the team is on the right track however and I think we will continue to climb but I cant see the top 8 next year. There's an advantage with thinking this as well. It means I cant get too upset.

Glumshark, Ill pay that one, its better then Stan.

I don't see any need to personally attack Sam for his opinion, which he is entitled to.

But one thing I can't help but think is the way he is calling himself a 'realist' instead of a 'pessimist' comes off sounding like Fox news calling themselves 'fair and balanced ©'.

A bit of realism won't go astray around here. Keep posting.

and btw, I think we saw enough of a change in the teams 'shape' in attack when we played the Titans and Roosters in particular to have grounds to expect a more potent attack in 2011.

Of course he is entitled to his opinion - that is not in dispute.

If he always wants to be looking for the hole in the donut then that's his choice.

It's just the old glass half full / glass half empty thing.

Just re-focussing on the thread

I think we are a pretty fair chance of finishing somewhere between 12 and 8 next year. In true sharks style, would NOT be surprised to see us in a must win round 26 game. (I've been a sharks supporter for a lot of years)

Considering our losses and gains, I see a better allround squad next year.

Smith to replace Millo (with all due respects to Millo who I rate highly, that's a plus)

Tongia to replace fergo (thats a big plus)

Williams to replace Cov (both established 1st grade wingers with different strengths and weaknesses. Both can kick goals)

Graham to replace Baz (the master's apprentice. he can only get better)

Cuthbo replaced by Clayton (no probs)

Not to mention the signing of Colin Best (who i think will be centre next year, otherwise would've mentioned him above), plus Lelei and Borgas

Then there's the potential ESL signing and big johnny M and Stewie Mills coming back.

Then, off field, we've got new coach with differenet style, upcoming financial security, high performance unit, hopefully new CEO and recruitment manager, etc etc

I think realistcally about 9 or 10 but 7 or 8 would be feasible.

Remember, only 2 years back, we finished equal 1st

I really think we should be making the 8 next season but we don't have any pressure and will be happy with 10th, I just can't wait for the rabbits to miss the 8 and blame everything else but themselves

Sorry Fitz but the glass will always be full. One half water the other half oxygen, carbon dioxide etc.

Back on topic I'm sure we will go better this year but if we make top eight we will finish either seven or eight.

Well, technically:

(At sea level at 15°C and 101325 Pa)

Nitrogen -- N2 -- 78.084%
Oxygen -- O2 -- 20.9476%
Argon -- Ar -- 0.934%
Carbon Dioxide -- CO2 -- 0.0314%
Neon -- Ne -- 0.001818%
Methane -- CH4 -- 0.0002%
Helium -- He -- 0.000524%
Krypton -- Kr -- 0.000114%
Hydrogen -- H2 -- 0.00005%
Xenon -- Xe -- 0.0000087%
Ozone -- O3 -- 0.000007%
Nitrogen Dioxide -- NO2 -- 0.000002%
Iodine -- I2 -- 0.000001%
Carbon Monoxide -- CO -- trace
Ammonia -- NH3 -- trace

But you can have all of that... I've got dibs on the wine at the bottom of the glass!

Hey fitz, don't you mean Joe's Milk Bar. If you where around in the 70's in Cronulla, you'll know
