My two cents worth. Talaki missed I think it was 5 tackles last game, way more than Nikora would normally miss. Personally I think Nikora's missed tackles are primarily fatigue related. I would play him for 40- 60 minutes (prob 60) and play talaki there to start the game and then shift talaki to the middle for the rest of his minutes.

I disagree. His poor defence is a problem that needs addressing. It's not just fatigue. There are many examples of poor defensive play by him in the opening 30 minutes of games.

Nikora can **** up anytime, which perhaps gets compounded under fatigue but I’ve never thought of it as caused by fatigue.

Nikora doesn’t make enough of an impact to warrant wasting interchanges on either. Not like he’s a big strong impact dude that needs a rest

I rarely get this feeling, but I feel that we are going to smash the be Jesus out of them this week..

You might be right, I can't remember exactly when in games his poor reads were.

Pretty sure though he was responsible for some bad reads early in the first Penrith game.

Yeah, was hard to pin our defensive issues on one player, they've mostly all been pretty putrid. Nikora looked especially that Penrith game though... was like they were bumper cars on the edges!

If it is communication that's the issue, I hope the quieter lads in the team figure it out. Our backs seem to be quieter types (unless it's a try celebration), and so is Wade, so hopefully they can all bring each other out of their shells.

Which makes it even weirder that he's been recalled. Talakai seems a bit better with defensive reads, and offers a lot more in general.
But Nikora comes across as a smart enough guy, so I feel like he could work it out. Let's see what Bomber's Booted-camp produces this time... it worked on Katoa's running in circles!

Jack Williams has been a lot less dire since his dropping too

True... seems like we're good at sorting players out. Another feather in Bomber's cap.

I'm getting the feeling that BHU could be next in line for the Bomber Boot-ed Camp... has been looking a little lack-lustre in recent weeks. I think it's more fatigue related, but a spell wouldn't hurt to help get him back to his try-scoring ripping and tearing best

I'm predicting some flying missile side-tackles from Nikora, like he was doing last year.

Hope he doesn't knock himself out.

NERF foam torpedo

I’m definitely open to the idea of Hunt starting, and either Woods or Uele coming from the bench

We don't wanna start Hunt, he just needs more minutes, he is brilliant from the bench, one of our best forwards the last few weeks, certainty brings the most impact, he's an animal of a player. Woods is suited perfectly for starting a game. Lots of metres and keep the ruck tight and makes his tackles

Woods doesn't really provide impact though

not in a flashy way but he makes plenty of PCM and never gets dominated in the tackle

I rarely get this feeling, but I feel that we are going to smash the be Jesus out of them this week..

Perhaps and it would be fun to watch us carve up our old Northern sooky foe but it's hard to get excited for the season carving up another pleb team when you know just around the corner is a good team that will absolutely annihilate us

Jack Williams has been a lot less dire since his dropping too

he has been good, wonder how he responds to Nikora getting promoted back into the team. hopefully he goes even harder and keeps the glue on his hands from the past few weeks

Hmm, I am hearing noises that SJ is still not 100% - it's not as strong as last time but he is still in some doubt I have heard.

But the interesting thing is that if SJ is out, it may not necessarily be Moylan jumping into the halves...

Ha ha!

Honestly I don't know the answer - Trindall is not in the 21 so can't be used, unless we get special permission from the NRL of course...

Which we presumably wouldn't if Moylan is healthy

Only other idea would be Graham and Tracey in the halves but that is pretty rank

Meh. We could turn up with boots on the wrong feet and still beat this mob convincingly.

Rather than being a 50 point win we may have to settle for a 20 point win.

Wade would be the only one left who could boot a ball down field I think

Yes , surely Trindall would have been named in the 21 if SJ was in any doubt ?

Was thinking that too, at least the WK bit. Just don't know if he has any sort of kicking game. But Wade would be the safer option

Why not just blow up the whole spine

1 Ronnie
6 Tracey
7 Graham
9 Sorensen

14 Brailey (or drop for Fifita even)
