Guys I've said a great deal about Peachey before so I won't go into it again because it won't change the fact that he has gone.
What I will say is his situation reminds me of Cliff Lyons. For those old enough to remember Cliff was one of the most famous ones that we let go and every time we played Manly he smashed us.

Don't remind me. Harold Holt would have well and truly come home if we had of kept Cliffy. Imagine him and Miller in the same team.

Having left Cronulla after making his NRL debut for the Sharks in round 10 of the 2013 season, Peachey says the persistence Gould and Ivan Cleary showed in wanting to acquire his services was the deal-clincher. Raiders vs Sharks at Canberra Stadium.

It took less than one week for Elijah Taylor to stand where so many others have stood before, watching on in jaw-dropped awe as new teammate Tyrone Peachey flaunted his full attacking repertoire in front of the entire coaching staff during an opposed pre-season session.

"Man, I've only been here a week but he's the one I'm excited about playing with the most. All his skills are outstanding for a back-rower," Taylor told NRL.com.

If jealousy was a curse, then consider Taylor damned for the rest of eternity.

"And the size of him – he's not the biggest second-rower running around but mate, he'll put his body there and that shows his heart," he continued.

"That's all you need in this game: heart, hard work and skills."

I was pissed when we lost O'Donnell, I thought he would make it. I was WRONG!!!

Peachey takes it to a whole new level for me though (I wouldn't have paid overs for him so we made the right choice).

Peachey is the type of player I love watching and he has that last name, it makes me sad.

I just want to see us playing the style of footy that made me start loving the Sharks in the first place and players like Peachey would kill it.

Whats done is done and I don't really care that much that he's gone but it's a shame.

Rightly or wrongly, he made NRL.com's list of 30 MVPs for 2014.

Just a taste -

"There's the wrong-footing sleight of hand. There's also the unpickable dummy and the old-fashioned chip and chase. All the things that make you fall off your seat and reach for the remote control to make sure you saw what you saw.

Let it be known, Panthers fans: not since Preston Campbell fooled both watertight defences and experienced cameramen alike will the foot of the mountains have witnessed a more gifted ball-player in the middle of the park than Peachey."

I just can't see him making it as a second rower at his current size.

Not a traditional one at least, and that's exactly why I'm disappointed we let him go. People will say we have an awesome forward pack anyway, and we do. But the strength and work rate of our other forwards means we'd have the go-forward and grunt to carry Peach, and the leisure to let him play his natural game.

He'll have a huge year. Can't wait to watch the panthers (don't think anybody's ever said that before)
