I wish we kept Peachey, but I just watched todays game and he was flattered by the grade, the heat and the size of the newtown forwards. Don't get me wrong, he is awesome, but just how awesome in FG is hard to tell.
We have to keep Sop. He's gonna be very good.

yeah I don't think he is a forward.

I guess he has been flattered by the entire NSW cup and a few NRL clubs as well then, right?

No that's not what I said. I just said he cut it up today, but Newtown have huge forwards who looked slow and tired in the heat today. A lot of the guys in the VB NSW cup team of the year cannot get a contract anywhere. Mills was in the team of the year. Like I said I wish we kept Peachey.

Peachey's best spot is 6. If he wants to be a superstar he should lose a little weight and become the best running 5/8 in the game.

I don't know who is making the call on him playing 13 if it is him or the coach but the game is moving towards bigger stronger men, unless they reduce the interchanges he will always be running against bigger blokes who are as fast and agile as he is.

If he plays in the second row for a full year in first grade next year he will score a few trys for sure but he will not tear apart the comp.

Agree 100%. Watching that game on Saturday I couldn't help thinking 7. Carney, 6. Peachey would have been awesome for 2014.

For me, a lot will depend on the makeup of the rest of the team. If you have a big hard working forward pack and he's playing lock as a bit of a more of a ball player then he could probably get away with his size a bit more and take advantage of the platform set by others. But if he's in a smaller underpowered pack, then he may struggle if he has to do too much of the grunt work. In the right team he could probably do well as a "loose" forward, but it is a bit of a conundrum.

The idea of him playing as a hooker off the bench may have some merit. He could probably do similar to Piggy Riddell, playing a bit as a hooker and a bit as a backrow.

Peachy is a old fashion Lock the new age lock is a front rower Peachy is a outstanding footballer and he will succeed because of his skill levels and foot work in my opinion and I wouldnt worry to much about his size he is big enough

at 182cm his height is no issue

his weight is ther only issue, but he makes up for that with natural skill.

also, the muppet that said he got dominated in firsts has no idea, peach made the advantage line 7 times out of every 10

He is perfect the way it is, his game obviously revolves around skipping outside players, much like gards, if he was to put on any weight he'd lose some of his agility and speed which has made him as good as he is.

Which is why he should drop a few kilos and play 5/8. Then all he has to do is run and set up trys. No dirty work longer career.

Simply he won't last as long playing in the forwards, he can play lock latter in his career. I know he doesn't like training but if he put in the hard work he would be a better version of Josh Renyolds.

Guys I've said a great deal about Peachey before so I won't go into it again because it won't change the fact that he has gone.
What I will say is his situation reminds me of Cliff Lyons. For those old enough to remember Cliff was one of the most famous ones that we let go and every time we played Manly he smashed us.
Peachey has dominated an entire competition at age 21/22 everyone knows that it is an inferior competition but it is still a reserve grade standard and one of our blokes has dominated it. We couldnt compete with another side who obviouslysees his potential.
I wish Peachey well but I hope that he doesn't hurt us like Cliffy did. I'm just hoping we make the GF so that I can see him runout in Sharks colours for one more time.

I'm another one who was spitting chips after finding out that Sharks had let him go when it was so obvious he was keen to stay with this club.

I had warned and begged for so long that we needed to wrap this guy up before other clubs took notice and put in offers of bigger money and it was frustrating that our management was blind to the slipping opportunity.

Whilst I will never understand the mentality of those who had the power to groom him and nurture him for the top grade and yet failed to do so, I wish the Peach (Mark 2) well for the future.

As Danga Hatch points out - Tyrone Peachey will join Cliffy Lyons as one of the biggest regrets for the Cronulla Sharks. They will wish they had not let him go.

I can see this turning out like Fifita leaving the Tigers and carving up.
