Seriously I'd settle for a halfback that isn't a complete liability in attack. Robson is talentless.

That's right, even Todd Murphy's got a better touch settler.

So again we have not really seriously looked at our 1/2 situation. If we miss DCE and a long shot that we get him ... what are we left with?, We have known for years Robbo is a dud and would not get a start in any other first grade team. Why aren't we chasing at least a couple of up and comers instead of continually going for burnt out slow injury prone halfbacks.

Is this bad management and an ongoing tactical blunder by our coach? We all know 1/2 is probably the most important position in the team and we are still buggerising about.

Flanno ...get with the programme.:gal:

Having a massive offer on the table to DCE, your summary is that sharks have not seriously looked at their half option?

Let's say we do sign DCE for 2016.

Where does that leave this year? Does Robbo step up and put in because he knows it's definitely his last year, or if we play a younger bloke does he put in knowing it's his audition for a contract elsewhere next year.

Or do they both play garbage knowing they're gone.

How much does Flanno start to structure the team so it's ready for DCE to slot in next year, knowing what kind of half he has coming?

I think Robbo would know that this is his last year, regardless.

I can't see Robbo not trying. He might not be the most talented half kicking around, but I don't think I've ever seen him give less than 100%.

AS for the younger blokes, if they get a run you'd think they'd be auditioning for another contract, be it here or elsewhere.

You're right slide rule, Robbo is a bad half but he'll be putting in as much as possible. He shouldn't be in the 7, but sure as hell he will bust his poorly skilled butt off to the best of it's ability, and will still bleed for the jersey.

Agree with you Sutty, buy we have known Robbo has severe limitations compared to the better half backs, its not that he doesn't put in. The problem is what have we done and are doing about it we still don't have DCE signed and if he doesn't we are back on the market without having the position properly covered..

Robbo has never really had any competition from within to put pressure on his position and we still don't haven't got a stack of young fellas knocking on the door challenging him and we still have no real fall back position

Just because you're not aware of the Plan B if we miss DCE is no reason to think there isn't one.

Hope ya right but our track record has been very average for around 7 or so years now, when it comes to us having a class half back.

Didn't Flanno and Gorman come out and say at the recent Community Fourm that Hodkinson was our plan B?

Robbo's still gotta win a Catalan's contract

I don't think it would inspire or show much commitment to DCE if we were actively and publicly out there pursuing other half back options so close to potentially securing DCE. There is still time to go after our second or third choice halfbacks on the market. We should know where we stand on DCE within the next week or so I wouldn't start panicking yet

DCE is in a whole different league as a player IMO but Hodkinson would be a reasonably good contingency plan, particularly next to a player like Barba. Hodkinson would still be the best half back we have had since Kimmorly and we don't lose out on the grit Robson has instilled in the position (perhaps his only positive legacy)

Flanno would probably be buying him fish and chips by the beach, not taking him out for steak

You take Georgie to Sizzler and let them worry about the mess.
