there is no way in hell you can judge chad and robbo on the first half... manly were fielding a pack of nevielles no one at the ground had heard of

some of them must of been from qld cup, some from local a grade, they were borderline special ed.

what needs to happen at the next trial is WG in the 13m PG in the stands.

i would give chad the points over robbo so he starts in the 7, robbo plays second half.

good summary that, i will go a bit further indepth..

first half, robo and chad combined really well. robbo did the long kicking and hit the turf with ease. to be fair though, the manly fullback was so ****ing **** it isnt funny

chad and jeff both got repeat sets when they wanted too. morris looked good from dummy half as he only played for about 30 mins, as mark bastard wants him to.

john williams was easilly our best back, i think he was only with that team to kick goals, although the belter matt wrivght kicked from the sideline after the TC 90m try said he could of been there

feki was outstand, did alot of work from dummy half, if he had genuine pace he would be amazing

taufua and green worked there arse off, peachey was good as well

some of the unknown players really put their hand up, hassan in particular.

second half was all TC. thats it. he controlled everything. wade chipped and and de gois got us on the front foot, but it was all tc.

gibbs and ross controlled the ruck, and controlled it well. Friz was the pick of the second row, and if bukuya has another fragile injury, or a quiet newcastle trial, friz has to start.

pom and best were, well, pom and best. no mistakes, no threatening runs. pom was described as being "great" for not dropping a ball. that sums up his game

gardz supported well, and we used alot of second phase play, especially down the left. if we use gal as a decoy it will be try central down there

mills and wright did **** all as well, but mills took an intercept on a great defensive read, following a poor defensive read by pom.

mills out paced stewart and oldfield, they both gave up.

both had a red hot crack at TC, oldfield brought him down before the line. if that went upstairs, i dont think it was a try, i think it was a second effort, but i dont wanna argue over it.

in summary as well, all manly fans are fagots. all of them

Agree, some of his efforts had me looking to the team line-ups asking who he was. He has some ticker and really had a dig. Tyrone Viiga was also great when he came on i thought. Our second 1/4 team was pretty much made up of under 20's, and they more than held there own. We were good overall but 1 thing glaring obvious for me was the lack of depth the eagles have this year. If they have some injuries, they will struggle to make the 8 going off the **** there first team put in.

Also on Luke Pickerd, he didn't look like he has put on much size in the off season like some of our players have. I know a few want him in the NRL side at centre (or at least given a go) but i don't think he is physically ready yet. Just my opinion though.

Great summary mate, much appreciated.

Really interested in Peachey. Can you shed more light on his peformance. Did he look to small against the bigger guys, has he bulked up abit ?

Also what about Pickerd? Did he play ?

why does everyone keep saying that Manly were fielding a pack of nevilles. They were fielding players of the same calibre of the team we started with.
they are only nevilles because they are not familiar to us. ask a Manly supporter if he knew our second string 13 on Friday night and he would call
them Nevilles as well.

I agree, though from memory Manly had a poor NSW Cup and NYC team last year so it's a continuation of their second tier teams being poor.

We dominated them, and it's because we're better.

Good to hear Peachey has bulked up, spending some time in NSW cup will be good for him also. If he can snag a few games from the bench at some point I think he'll be good to go next year.

Yeah, he is def a clever player. What he lacks in size he makes up between the ears for mine. On one occasion he hit it up and put a shimmy on close to the line, fell on his belly and got up for a quick play the ball. The next hit up instead of the shimmy he ran it up fast and straight, with the opposition thinking the shimmy was coming again, he again fell on his belly and got away a quick play the ball. He is def a prospect we should be looking to retain into the future. I'd love to see him play some hooker as firsts this year, i reckon he would go really well there!

The thing that I was happiest to see was our urgency in defence in our own 20.

Peter Sharpe has been working heavily on that. I think if what I saw the other night is any indication of what we're about this year we're going to be a hard team to score against from the red-zone.

Great to hear, we need to get our 07/08 defense back and with carney to help in attack we can go a long way.

Seems like Pom and Best held their own, if it was against Matai and Lyon then isnt that pretty good defensively if others then took up the slack and scored? We may not need them to score many if others can and they can hold defensively? Not ideal i know but Manlys centres are pretty quality?!
