From his sharks profile page....

Clever ball-playing half who joins the Sharks from the Queensland Cup team the Norths Devils. Was a member of the Queensland Residents team in 2014 and came in second in the voting for the Qld Cup player of year award the Courier Mail Medal. An electrician by trade.

He might be decent but I was taking umbrage at everyone bagging Robbo.

He dosen't deserve that.

His defence is first class and he did what he was coached in attack.

To be honest i think people are probably expecting too much from Murphy, massive step up to the NRL. There's a reason for that though, and the reason is Robbo is the worst halfback in the comp. Yes he's a decent guy a good defender but as a NRL halfback he's terrible. The personal abuse he copped at times in here during 2014 was disgraceful, but purely from a footy perspective he's rubbish.

Not about research comment on something you have a clue about! You blokes down there wouldn't have much chance of watching Q Cup same as us with Nsw Cup. But this guy is the goods! He wall eights up a situation very well and usually picks the correct option. I personally think he will come in after the first 10 rounds. He is a talent and has a very good kicking game close to the line and within the 40.

Electrician by trade aye - the media would go to town on that pun wise 'electric half, shocking pass ect...'

I just hope he doesn't turn out to be another middle of the road townsend type vs. Robbo week to week arguments

He was told to stuff up every kick he made?

Robbo was the best halfback we had last year. But he is the worst halfback in the NRL.

I don't know if Murphy is better or worse but I sure hope he is better.

Not that a highlight reel is anything to go by, but you can tell that he has a really good eye. The reel suggests that he is great at keeping the ball alive and prone to quick thinking. Not sure what first graders are pushing for his selection, if any, but the sky is the limit. Odds are we are bound to pick up a gem eventually. Fingers crossed it's this guy

Spot on Tatus he can assess what's infront of him very quickly and usually makes the correct decision. Also isn't afraid to dig in when needed in defence.

Has anyone been watching the reserves? How's this guy settling in? Playing ok?
I haven't, but the highlights should be up on the nswrl.com.au website pretty soon. Supposedly he made a few line breaks leading to tries.

It's highlights and in reserve grade...Yet I still doubt Robson could pull off what Murphy did in those highlights.

Murphy just looks quicker off the mark. I know it is just a highlight to a game we lost but hell Murphy is a lot quicker.

Thanks for that .
Murphy looked really good , I know it's only highlights .
Tries against weren't his fault either . (except perhaps the first try )
Yeah but that didn't even look like a try, I thought the dude dropped it.

A couple of really good judges I know who watch all the qcup say he was always first grade capable but had a poor attitude. Never going to be a JT tier or a DCE tier player but would sit in the third tier of players - the sezers, robert lui (minus being a ****) and the like.
