Edge Forced To Retire With Neck Injury

Edge's retirement from last night's RAW is in-fact legitimate and not part of a storyline. The story that Edge told about tests coming back and showing issues with his neck are true. Edge was handed a mic at RAW tonight and told to go out and say bye however he wanted. No word yet what will happen to the World Heavyweight Title.

Less than a week after his successful title defense against Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania XXVII, World Heavyweight Champion Edge has been forced to retire from in-ring competition due to injury. The unexpected news brings to an end a storied WWE career spanning 13 years and consisting of 11 World Title reigns.

The Rated-R Superstar had been suffering numbness and uncontrollable trembling in his arms and hands. This is not the first time Edge has experienced these symptoms of nueropraxia. An MRI in Atlanta last Monday was sent to Dr. Joseph Maroon, a renowned neurosurgeon and professor of neurosurgery at The Pittsburgh School of Medicine. After careful examination of the MRI, it was determined that Edge would never be cleared to compete again, and thus, he is forced to retire.

In 2003, Edge underwent a two level spinal fusion of the discs between his C5, C6 and C7 vertebrae. After being cleared to compete, The Rated-R Superstar returned to the ring, resulting in stenosis of the spine, or a narrowing of the spinal column, above and below the fused discs. This narrowing resulted in less and less of the vital fluid needed to protect the spinal cord. Medical professionals cannot clear Edge to compete ever again in WWE since doing so could result in paralysis or even death.

yeah its his neck, he said he was on borrowed time for quite a few years now and its only just recently he was starting to get numbness in his arms. want for a MRI scan the day after wrestlemania and that when the wwe doctor said if he gets a bad enough knock he would be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

here is his RAW fairwell address

Nah, I've been once & enjoyed it as a one off, it didn't grab me, mind you it probably would have 20 yrs ago but I still don't think its as good as it used to be, I mainly IQ it these days & pretty much fast forward through most of it, either that or I go on wrestle zone & find out what's happening week to week.

Been to a fair few wrestling events. Last one i went to was the Hulkamania tour which was awesome to finally see Hogan live. And to top it off he vs flair in the main event and both did a blade job which was awesome.

But these days its so hard to watch WWE. Punk is amazing and Ziggler is probably the best worker on there right now. But the storylines are all horse **** atm, AJ Lees is the best and probably the most entertaining. ALR is the most boring wrestler as well he needs a better gimmick.

Impact wrestling on the other had is always a pleasure to watch, Matchs on impact are always PPV quality and the storylines are good as well. I enjoy all the talent they have as well including Bully Ray being world champ atm. The guy has worked his ass off to change his character and make him a mainevent wrestler and its working really well.

I won tickets to that event in sydney, I never thought I'd get to see flair and hogan wrestle in person. The wwe needs to go back to the attitude era and stop with this pg crap

The amount of kids john cena brings in and all the money he brings with it is to much for them to take it back like that.
Plus mature wrestling fans are the biggest ****in complainers in the world. Nothing is ever good enough and "back in the day" was always better.
Hell I use to help run a wrestling forum back in the day and everyone ripped the **** out of the invasion angle. Now they talk like it was the last good story line WWE did.

But if you want some attitude era stuff watch impact wrestling.

Sting
Kurt Angle
Jeff Hardy
Bully Ray (bubba ray Dudley)
Give you your old school feel.
Then you have the best wrestler in the world today AJ Styles
Samoa Joe
Austin Aries
Bobby Rude
Mr Anderson

The women can actual wrestle as well.
Ad Hulk is the GM what's not to love

I stopped watching it as soon as Jeff hardy left. I was massively into it. Used to wrestle this talking NWO hogan dole I had. My mate was Matt and I was jeff. Together we would go around doing poetry in motion to anyone who crossed us in school.

We also used to get ice cream lids, cut them and put a belt thru them... Treasured childhood items
