Canon 350D = a digital SLR (single lens reflex) camera. You can change the lenses on these cameras to suit what you're taking a photo of.

17-55mm = the lens that comes with the camera, with a zoom range of 17mm (wide angle) to 55mm (sort of zoom, but not very long zoom). good for landscapes and just any other general photos.

75-300mm = another lens that comes with the 350D, this is a zoom lens. Good for taking photos of footy, surfing and tennis.

50mm f/1.8 = a cheap little lens that doesn't zoom in or out, but is REALLY good for getting nice portrait photos. the f/1.8 refers to the aperture setting, which is basically how much light the lens allows to get to the sensor. (the bit with the megapixels)

17-85mm = the lens that I want. much better quality glass and build quality than the 17-55. It has IS, which is Image Stabilisation, which helps to reduce camera shake when you're taking photos in low-light situations without using a flash.

Understand now?

i'll stick with brands i can trst like panasony, grundsung (sounds like a crappy grunge band) samphonic, and nicanLG

not in the shire anymore :(
yeah over 2g for a fisheye

fisheye is a really wide angled lens that distorts the picture heaps.

like this photo of 95 (hosted it on my own photo hosting site so it shouldn't turn into anything dodgy):

2g = $2000
