7d is a great camera as well as the 5d or 5dmk2.

Jed can i ask why you only get 12 min of vid. Is that due to the memory card size or the actual camera. Ive never used Vid always thought if i wanted to go that way i would just sell some one else’s soul and spend another 10 k on a vid kit.

Its got something to do with the European Union and a tax that they have for a cam that records more than half an hr of video, it then becomes a video cam and incurs an extra tax raising the cost by about 60 euros.
Half hr sd vid = 4gb therefore 4gb is the limit, therefore HD is 12 min long when it hits 4gb.
Canon in there wisdom make one model for the whole world, so we get stuck with this stupid glitch.

Anyone have any advice or tips for someone who is interested in analogue b/w photography, but has no behind the camera experience or equipment?

When you say "analogue" are you meaning film photography?

Non-digital means.

I'm also interested in using electrical and magnetic fields as the subjects, as well as light.
