Plenty of time to go, the comp is wide open.

We are as much chance as anyone to win it.

You only gotta look at last season.

Who in here thought we were gonna win the comp 3 or 4 weeks out from the finals?
had my GF tickets well before then.

I'd sum it up as not the same feeling as last year, but still. Confident of a deep finals run. Even if we finished bottom of the 8.

I think we have the team to do it... I also think if all teams are playing at 100% that we are the best team in the Comp. It just seems this year we are struggling to put 40 minutes together, let alone a whole 80.

I wonder if we are guilty of playing the game plan as last year, even though it's clear we don't have the same troops.

for one, our fullback isn't able to link with our outside backs which has our wingers scoring a lot less tries and our FB bagging a lot less try assists... we also have a lot less creativity out of our dummy half close to the line which was where a lot of our tries come from last year.

I think if we are to win the GF this year we need to dumb down our style a little bit and start playing through the middle of the field instead of trying to go around them.

That's just me though. I can't say I speak for everyone and I can't say my take on things is even correct.

Best defence in the comp. Defence wins competitions. They haven't been as impressive this season as last but I'd be shocked and disappointed if they weren't at least playing in a preliminary final this year.

Holmes gotta step up in all areas of attack .Not just hanging the left edge .
Someone's gotta be anticipating/ running and supporting the forwards offloads in the centre .
I know he's still learning NRL , but playing like a soft cock compared to the elite fullbacks as far as involvement .

PS : This is a 10 beer plus post .. individual truth comes out

Agree. He hasn't looked like a fullback either in defence or attack these past dozen games. Hope he picks up but really can't see it.

He has played 10 NRL games as a fullback. Barba sucked for a full season for us. Give Val time.

More than happy to . He's doing some great stuff and can throw a good cut out pass at speed , like Barba . Just want to see him inject himself more in attack ..

I think part of the attacking issue has also been the subtraction of Val from the wing. That right edge is significantly less dangerous with Beale/Lee/Capewell filling in over there.

Very true , just like him to study Billy Slater tapes and be able to work some magic in the centre of the field at times .So many of our forwards have quality offloads in them .
He should be sniffing harder than a 3 headed Police narcotics dog at a North Coast music festival
