14 rounds, 13 games and we are sitting in outright second. If you were to describe our season in a few words, what would they be? I'd choose "can't hold onto the ball and to many penalties".

When playing at our best I think we are the best team in the competition, even without Ennis and Barba.

But the point of this thread is to find out if you think we will improve in the second half of the season, or fall off?

Tough draw for us especially all the extra travel to QLD & NZ. Looking at our draw I think we could easily win another 7-8 games and losing 3 or 4, plus a bye giving us a total of 36-38 which would surely put us top 2 or 3.

To sum up our season so far I'd say 'inconsistent but resilient'

Yeah those 2 and 3 hour flights are going to ruin everything

so you think we'll be fine coming into the back end of the season/finals?

I think we will win enough to be top 4. I dont think the away stretch will hurt our cause either. But if we wanna be a serious threat of winning it all, we need to improve in alot of areas

Is there a team that looks heads and tails above anyone at the moment. Playing great mid season last year and it all went pair shape last month or so, I'm happy that we are getting it done with our B game. Makes the boys train harder to find their A game.

I think we're doing better than I thought we would at this stage.

The loss of Ennis and Barba was huge. It is going to be a tough Hill to climb.

We certainly have the personnel to get the job done but imagine how it would have been had our ball control been better.
So many of our losses could easily have been wins.

I think we'll make the 4 and despite our loss on Thursday night I still think we can beat Melbourne in the big games.

Can we win the comp? Yes we can but we need to be playing much better. I think we all know that.

%100 I think we can, but do you think we will? Have we just been playing sloppy and have tones of room for improvement, or do you think we have been over achieving and will slowly start to fall off as the season goes on.

I was confident we would improve but now I am not so sure. Probably finish 5th and not make the GF.

I think we are really missing seggy I know he only played a couple of games and short minutes but he made a big impact when he came on. That storm game was special. If we had him on Thursday, we win imo.

I'm thinking the same. We're past halfway now and i don't see any signs of our attack clicking.

The try feki scored the other day was good, it was well put together and well executed. We dont see that much. It seems to me, that we have to work really hard for our points, where sometimes some of the 'worse' teams can still score some very good tries, and create a lot of space for their attack. We play so flat and so sideways sometime we actually paint ourselves into a corner.

Plenty of time to go, the comp is wide open.

We are as much chance as anyone to win it.

You only gotta look at last season.

Who in here thought we were gonna win the comp 3 or 4 weeks out from the finals?

3 or 4 weeks? I thought we'd go very close. we had a few losses at the back end there but i think a bit of fatigue, complacency and ego got in the way there, and then the raping by Melbourne booted us up the ass.

My issue isnt the results, cos we have been very good on the ladder, but i think compared to 2016 many of our performances have been well below that standard. We're still managing to win games, and a few come from behinds also.

We wont win the premiership if we dont fix up the handling errors and maybe sharpen out attack and ask a few more questions of the defence

Pleasantly surprised where we are at on the table, not so much game style and dumb decisions. The Rorters and Eagles games will be a good indicator as to whether we top four or bottom 8 IMHO. Win both and I'm a believer, as our Defence is awesome and that may get us to GF.

3 trips to QLD will be tough.

Also, we somehow manage to play the other top 4 sides from last year twice each.

Melbourne, Canberra, Broncos , Cowboys.

I though it was supposed to be seeded or something ?

We are playing like dog****, but still mostly winning. I liked how we clawed Storm back after giving them a gift start - we didn't come away with the cookies, but that was massive imo.

The game could've gone either way after we tied it up. We didn't respect what we were up against at the point & got too full of ourselves.

Something for Flanno to fix and plenty of time to do so.

Question is - will he?

Yeah. It's been very clunky but I'm heartened by the quality of players we have in the team. Experienced players that can turn it on when it counts. The performance of our players in Origin was encouraging.

I feel like we've really lacked a player that can change the tempo and exploit the other team's fatigue. Barba did it well for us last year. Seggy is obviously a totally different player but I feel that he has a bit of that type of energy.

At the risk of sounding like Phil, I don't think the standard of the comp is particularly good this year.

If we're firing at the business end of the season there's no reason we can't win it.
