I’m getting rid of Uele every day of the week if it means gaining AFB. Don’t rate Kaufusi at all so for me he’s depth.

Not playing Uele or Kaufusi at all? No matter, just askin'.

Under that lot may be

Uele
Berrell
Hunt
Kaufusi
Burns
Lewis
Tuku Hau Tapuha
Bradbury

Still short an edge player for mine. I suppose the 2 new placeholders and Sifa are seen as the cover there
Edge cover is Burns, Talakai at this stage. And if we sign Chris Lewis then he’s the 3rd man in. Position sorted.

How much of his wage are you paying if/when you show him the door?

In regards to Kaufusi. Bottom clubs are desperate for players like him. Don’t think we’d have to pay anything to be honest.

The player also needs to be happy to leave though, and not many would be walking out easily to a bottom club.

We have a lot of flexibility with our middles for 2025. Uele, Williams and Colquhoun are off contract. Oregan has a mutual option, Tommy a club option and Finucane drops to 300k.

If we needed to find cash, you could easily move on from Uele and Williams and fill those roles with big Tom and Colquhoun. (Not saying I'd be keen to move Williams, but it's an option if we needed cash as he'll likely need an upgrade).

Afb
Toby
Cam

Finucane
Colquhoun
Hazleton
Hunt/kaufusi

That's still a damn good pack and well balanced with youth and experience. Ideally you'd not take up Kaufusi's option and keep Williams there, but he'd need to be on board and it would cost more.

I don’t think we have a snowman’s chance in hell of signing AFB.

Unfortunately I think there are going to be a lot of disappointed posters on here.

I dont understand all the angst around Uele, he can be the most effective prop we have, i will agree injuries have hampered his appearances

This is the exactly what all the angst is about. If he was at his best 90% of the time we mightn't need AFB.

Just seems to much out of left field for mine. Why would he come here? Why would he want to be coached by Fitz? Not the best coach going around according to some.
I can't see why we wouldn't be somewhere he'd be interested in.

He wants to be in Sydney which means we're one of nine clubs. The Saints still do most of their training in the 'gong so you could possibly rule them out.

Absolutely we have a chance, a pretty good one I reckon.

If it comes down to cold hard cash I think the other clubs will be far more desperate and blow our offer out of the water. But if you dont ask, the answers always no.

He can't earn more than he's currently on whilst still under contract with NZ.

Sure, clubs can pay him a lot more once that expires.

Choices between Fitz, Flanno, Benji and Ciraldo if rumours are to be believed.

I think the fact we will be competitive would be worth as much if not more than who the coach is.
