Well, 2022 has nothing to do with why he wasn't "there" last year. There were genuine reasons for him being distracted last year. He'll be OK. He'll only get lambasted because Sharks fans develop fixed beliefs on players and those fixed beliefs don't budge.
Yep. Not just Sharks fans though. NRL fans and probably fans of any sport.

Two big things with Kaufusi are recency bias (his best games were in the first half of the season, he didn't play round 23-26 and he was clearly still not 100% in the final two games) and people not understanding the difference between player roles. They see Hazelton and Hunt going full tilt for 10-15 minutes and expect Kaufusi should do the same when playing for 40.

Here's a Sunday night SPECIAL from other forum .
Talk of a 3 way deal to get AFB here NEXT year .
One posters hypothesis.

(As far as we know) Broncos have already moved Capewell to take pressure off their own cap.
Not well placed to be demanding anything from anyone.
Presumably don't have a huge amount of cap space available if they were feeling a bit of a squeeze, but I guess up to about 3/4 of Capewell's money could still be available.

Capewell is good for Warriors but not sure he'd be worth the headache of dealing away AFB to a NSW club on the basis of that club having a desirable player for Broncos. Seems like it could become a big headache unless a good player quickly put their hand up to go to Brisbane.

Maybe Warriors would sign up for that headache if they are in win now mode for this year?

Yep. Not just Sharks fans though. NRL fans and probably fans of any sport.

Two big things with Kaufusi are recency bias (his best games were in the first half of the season and he was underdone in the final two games) and people not understanding the difference between player roles. They see Hazelton and Hunt going full tilt for 10-15 minutes and expect Kaufusi should do the same when playing for 40.
That would be good though....

Don’t assume

You’ve died on the Townsend and Moylan hill before thinking others have no idea just because you can’t see what others do - don’t make this another hill I have to stake you on my friend

Would probably have to pay him more
What do you reckon, twice as much? Three times as much?
A 115kg prop who regularly takes 20+ runs and makes 40+ tackles in half a game, and also takes more runs inside his own 40 than anyone in the back 5?

That wouldn't cost any more money at all. You'd just pay him in unicorn ****.

No way the broncos have any cap space after this year. Mamm and Walsh will be taking 2 mil easily between them. Plus Staggs will want an upgrade. And Cobbo.

Best I can do is 15 runs and 24 tackles a game average, 2.5x the price but over 120kg

Tigers have signed Solomon Alaimalo. Blokes close to 2m tall and plays at around 103kg. Previously been playing Union for the chiefs, highlanders etc in rugby Union. Could be a real stand out in the nrl.

Taylan May has said it’s him his brothers dream of all playing together in the nrl for the same club.

Terrell May, Tyrone May and Taylan May. I was against paying 500k for Terrell but if it gets his brother Taylan here I say let’s make it happen. Tyrone can play for newton but, just give him 1 nrl game to complete the dream then drop him 😂

Based on other two signing elsewhere he is the only brother with that dream

Tyrone a knob anyway.

Apparently can play centre but we probably aren't in the market for an unproven centre for 2025 unless Iro flops soon and Talakai gets another year at centre with nobody obviously pressuring him.

Was thinking as a centre if Iro /Talakai doesn’t work out. If we do need to go to market he could be an option for 2025.
Chances are he signs to stay @ Penrith before we would know we need someone.
Likely either Talakai will stay centre with Iro in backup, or Iro will be given a shot and take a while to prove he aint it.
Either way we don't obviously need a centre for 2025 for a bit.

In saying that they could afford to lose him* if he did want to hold out to signed somewhere with a brother.

*teams like Panthers can keep affording to lose replaceable guys... until suddenly they can't anymore.
Junior pool only gets shallower while first grade has sustained success, and eventually you lose a couple key guys, and/or guys performing well above their pay, and it just doesn't quite hold up to same level anymore.

I love the union signings into NRL, hope they kill it and brings more talent into the sport

Wouldn’t mind seeing NFL rejects give it a shot too

Agreed.

I would love to see the Sharks have some kind of Academy in the States, but am guessing maybe the money isn't there to do so, but there are so many talented athletes out of high school, the 4 and 5 star get snapped up by the top colleges, but underneath there are guys who have the physical tools to be a success, would love to see it

As for Rugby Union, there must be a huge pool of talent in both South Africa and New Zealand, again would love some action there too.
