When Mal Meninga was coaching the Raiders he stormed into the dressing room after a loss and laid his boot into the esky.

This was a boot that could kick a goal from half way with the old toe poke.

His kick sent the lid of the esky frisbeeing across the room where it impacted with Daley's schnoz causing quite a bit of blood etc.

Needless to say the moment was lost.

Meh, I actually don’t really rate him.

Sure he’s fast and has some foot work but he has minimal ball playing skills, haven’t seen much of a kicking game. Game management skills nope.

A good foil for a controlling halfback but that’s it imo

Plenty of time to keep developing his game but you’re very right with the bold currently. If SJ gets cut shorter than NZ want him to play could be an issue to them.

Metcalf and TMM/CHT not to threatening

Metcalf has shown to have good ball skills in the past - throwing cut outs and harbour bridge balls to wingers, etc. He also showed some good kicking and game management skills without SJ in the trial.

Agree he's not the finished product but I don't see why he can't be a good NRL 5/8.

When a team's not going well it seems like the young promising halves are often the ones who get churned.

I wonder how long Trindall would have lasted at the Bulldogs the way they've been over the last few seasons.

Eels are pushing for Lomax trying to get him this year. They believe they can take on his full salary too which is 800k. Not sure how they think they’re that much under the cap :?
