I agree, but that is the most likely way we afford to keep BHU. More likely we just don't extend BHU I think.

Fonua-Blake's move confirmed for 2025
Addin Fonua-Blake to leave One New Zealand Warriors for Sharks after the 2024 NRL season.
Addin Fonua-Blake’s move from the One New Zealand Warriors for the 2025 season has been confirmed following his signing with the Cronulla Sutherland Sharks.
One New Zealand Warriors CEO Cameron George said the club had been in discussions with the Sharks and a deal had been reached for Fonua-Blake to join the Sharks from 2025.
"The arrangement excludes a player swap but we will continue to consider our options," he said.
It was confirmed early last month that Fonua-Blake had requested a release on compassionate grounds from the last three years of his contract but agreement was subsequently reached for him to remain with the One New Zealand Warriors for the 2024 season.

Also happy to see Williams and Kaufusi go to NZ if we can get AFB here next year.

I'd love for us to extend BHU & get rid of Kaufusi, BHU is a very underrated player imo. AFB has been an awesome pick up for us which for me came out of the blue after reading yesterday Dragons were favourites for his signature haha. I'd still extend BHU to come off the bench but get rid of Kaufusi end of 2024.

Decent pack there, I'm not sure on Finucane hence why I kept him there to be safe. Talakai will probably be better to come back to the forward pack I'd honestly agree, just got to find a way to keep BHU because I really have faith in him & believe his really underrated. It was hard to get rid of Hunt or Williams but it had to be done.
Wouldn’t think Finucane on 300k would be going anywhere.
Should be good value for a limited starter (Cam to take over) or experienced head to bring on.
But not on so much if you had to leave him out of 17 it’d be an issue.

If we're looking to back some of the young guys though, we might see Colquhoun make his way in there at the expense of a Williams/BHU for monetary savings, or a Hunt/Finucane to ensure we keep him (assuming he's earned the jersey).

There is no way we should be letting Williams go. He was one of our best last year.
Realistically you'd think two of our current props will have to make way. I'd prioritise keeping Hazelton and Colquhoun for their cheap contracts and succession planning, so probably two out of Uele, Hunt, Williams, Kaufusi.
Money will come into it but if we could get away with losing Hunt and Kaufusi we'd be laughing.

I for one think that if Uele can stay injury free and get a run of games he will show just how good he is . He has been blighted by successive injuries over the last 2 seasons , each just when he has been hitting form . They talk about what AFB can bring to a game with his quick feet for a big guy and his soft hands , well I believe Uele has all that as well , has shown how dangerous he is close to the line and not scared to take a strong hit up .
A starting set of props of AFB and Uele with Hazelton and Rudolph on rotation is as good as any teams .
Personally can't see any of Hunt, Williams or Kaufusi ever becoming starters for us . Happy with whoever Fitz wants to keep or let go from those guys .
