There was a article in last Sundays or the one before about the naming.

If it happens I wish they had kept there mouths shut as to make it a surprise.

Unless Gal brings us a premiership, does Gal deserve a stand named after him more so than Greg Pierce ? I know it's hard to compare eras but Pierce would get my nod for the lock position. In saying that I wouldn't be disappointed if it is 'The Paul Gallen Stand'.

I'd prefer they save the naming until his last ever home game. They should definitely do it though! Particularly that stand as it was built during his reign!

2 quality backs with our current crop (inc. 2012 signings) would get us close within 2 seasons.

I fully support a Paul Gallen stand. Where's a petition for me to sign?

While I have thought at times that he should just hold the freaking ball (scary offload, anyone?) you have to admit the guy is pretty talented. It isnt his fault we havent won a premiership and if that is the benchmark for getting a stand named after you - well none of our stands would have names, would they?

I love a loyal man too. One club his entire career. Beautiful.

Well I reckon we could of had this discussion when The Peach was playing. Before he went to England and tried to come back home to Cronulla. I understand that people get caught up in the present but we have had a lot of wonderful players, so looking back what is it that make Gal an automatic selection ?

Paul Gallen has Captained the Sharks/Blues/and soon to be Australian captain. Plus he has played for over 10 years with us. He has been probably our best player IN that 10 years(minus say 2008 when Greg Bird was top dog) He is more consistent then ANYONE IN THE WHOLE NRL. Thats why he gets an automatic selection.

I agree Fitzy, I think we just see if he can hold up the trophy in the next few years, then it would be a great tribute. Otherwise Gals last home game, or 300 game milestone would be fitting.

Definitely not this year when we are 15th on the ladder.

cool, so at this rate he should get upwards of 250 but will probs miss out on the 300. Touchwood for no injuries.
