He bulked up massively last season and I would expect the same this off season. I think he can match it in the centres although like said somewhere else he will get monstered by bigger centres so it would be handy to have gal defending on his side, or jez.

177 cm is 5 10 now its below average height for an nrl player but he does weigh 90kg which isnt bad for his size, i doubt junior sau is much taller, steve matai is round the same height, plus the shorter you are the lower centre of gravity you have there are benefits, not only to balance but stride speed, plus he played centre most if his life plus hes only young theres plenty more muscle development and weight to be put on its not that ludicrous an nidea really, why is being a short centre a disadvantage, its not like u have to catch high ball tht often and if he does some vertical jump training will solves te height difference

Just to correct something in the Brad Forrest article - he may have got his wires crossed.

It's not a 25% increase in new Members. It's 25% of all Members are new Members.

just a genuine question on that....

i clicked re-new membership, and for same crappy reason, it wouldnt let me slect anything other than my ga membership

so, i went to new membership for me and ellie.... even though all the details are the same, do we fit in the category of new members or existing

That's a question for Jardz to answer.

Just checked and sau is 175cm and 101kgs. I don't think height is a disadvantage but he will obviously never be as big as sau.

Michael Jennings is 178cm and 91kg.

off topic but I was just looking at his stats on the penrith site and on the side there is a poll asking who their best recruit is.

The names:
cameron ciraldo
clint newton
chris armit
danny galea
geoff daniela

That is good to hear! We are still bringing in the members :)

Probably wasn't a marquee signing but that isn't an issue. If you had to pick one I guess it would be out of De Gois, Ross, Gibbs or Fifita?

im not doubting it, but who was our marquee signing before carney?

I'd say DeGois.

Now look at us if we get Carney.

Carney
DeGois
Ross
Fafita
Gibbs
Robson
Taufua
Green

Pretty handy recruitment just wish we could add say Cooper Vuna/Bill Tupou and Dean Whare.

I think it ranks as our best recruitment effort in living memory. Carney is a former Dally M, DeGois should never have left the club, Ross was Souths best last year, Fafita has massive potential if he knuckles down and Gibbs is a solid premiership winner.

There are a lot of ifs, but we get the best out of each recruit we will have a top 8 side.

on the books next year

jon green
jeremy smith
bryce gibbs

as premier ship winners

to go with

carney
robson

grand finalists

and having taufua and de gois coming off a short finals stint

not bad recruitment, just seems we are scared of signing wingers/centres

Add the rep honours in and most of our team is either young or has some sort of rep / finals experience.

Agreed regarding wingers/centres. I'm sure they tried but didn't nail any. I'm tipping next year with Carney it'll be a different story. If he is in form he'll attract backs that want ball from him.
