Yeah Nicho may be a captain for a bit, but I am not convinced he should be. Teig I think in 3-4 years would make a great captain.

He's a leader for sure. Wonder what the hold up with this signing was, money or length?
He's got an extra 2 years to work on his game like Nikora has the last few years, plenty of time to get settled. He seems like the type of player who won't be happy with a contract though. I can't see him slacking off. He wants to be the best. Nikora has gone and cemented him as our best 2nd rower, I reckon Tieg will chase that.

I said many weeks ago he will extend with us and not to worry - he wasn't going anywhere and the club has extended every Sharks player that they have wanted to.
These things take time and it isn't the first instance of us making a contract announcement during the Origin period

We have little depth in the backrow as it is and even if say hypothetically the club was willing to have let him go who is available on the market to replace him that would be an actual upgrade?

Wiltons previous contract was done under John Morris and before he had played NRL if I'm not mistaken so it makes sense he would see a sizable increase in value and a contract to match.
If Nikora is on an alleged $600k per year then I reckon Tieg will be on a ballpark $450k-$500k per year deal
