I love Teig but he's not ready for SOO yet imo.....round two and they're talking about ****ing SOO already.

The only person liking this will be @Born&bred
I haven't really thought about this but there'd have to be half a dozen NSW backrowers who would be walk up starts before his name would be considered, surely

Just thinking out who could be there non side specific:

Murray
Martin
Olakauatu?
Koloamatangi?
Lane
Wilton

Given how freddy doesn't usually shy away from picking guys out of position, i'd think Murray and Martin start. Are Ola or Koala eligible? Otherwise Lane is the only one I could see getting in the way, and that is only if he can return to his end of season form quickly after this injury. He's way closer than I had considered.

Hudson Young another

I think Freddie would have a good hard look at all of them for a left edge spot before Wilton if he was picking an Origin team tomorrow. (Well, okay, not Lane, but he does beat him for the jersey currently if healthy).
Pretty sure Martin has played left when Kikau off.

Think both Ola and Koloa are eligible as haven't played for first teir internationals.
Think Ola opted himself out last year to concentrate on Internationals

For some reason I thought Young was a pom. I guess it's just the factor of being a second rower playing for Canberra.
Young is also a right edge player, but I agree, I think Freddy would look at all of them before Teig at this stage. He generally finds players he likes and finds a spot for them somewhere. Rather than being position/side specific.

You could play Yeo at 13, Martin left and Murray right and put a Young or Ola on the bench to throw on either side for a bit.
That's if Lane wasn't available as a very competent left edge starter.

Kind of weird how many NSW eligible edges are right side players at club level though...

Yeah I think it would be those 3 starting, then likely Koloamatangi on the bench as he would be versatile in the middle also.

It could have something to do with a dominant right hand carry? If you relate to centres too, many of the ones in contention for NSW rep roles are right edge players too. Crichton, Staggs, Lomax, Ramien.

Teig wants to play for the Sharks forever. I don't think his fairly average coach of an uncle is going to make that massive of a difference in enticing him to switch colours as long as our $offer is fair and in the ball park which I would imagine it is going to be.

The culture and working environment at the Sharks is a big deal to the players and they all get along - we haven't needed to fight a big battle (at least not publicly) to extend a players contract in the Fitz era and anyone we have lost along the way to another club has not really been a key Top 17 player or anything.

I feel Teig is more likely to stay than not to stay and this is just a bit of pot stirring
