I had a kai otton ex board a few years back. Insight.
Im doing some repairs to an old 5'8'' round nose small wave board i had made in port mac about 9 years ago. Ive got a mate in harrington that does some sick work with eps foams and carbon. Gunna get him to do me a updated replica. Maybe 1/8" thicker. With a few carbon stringers.
Still love my fred rubble and js matrix.
As for ks and quik, hugenews. Maybe just because of how iconic that partnership was. I started surfing because of slater.
I remember getting my first board for my birthday which was a week after scotty dureaus. He got an al merrick for his, i got an aloha. I was ****in dirty haha

Womens surfing is progressing well. Still doesnt hold a candle to mens surfing.

and get him out of the footy scene and he seems half decent on this show. on some rights he actually showed some skill haha.
Interesting that, i remember seeing Joey Johns out in the surf at celitos up here a few years back and he was cool as in the water.
Surfed a few years before that out there and Andy Irons, Bruce Irons, Rob Machado and Tim Curran were out. No prizes for guessing which 2 the arrogant ones were

Congrats to Michel Bourez beating Josh kerr winning the Margaret River Pro.
I still dont know after watching many replays how Bourez got at 9.3 after falling of the end of the wave to beat K.Slater to

pretty lame final i thought nothing spectacular, taj needs to cut the junk food and beer and work on his fitness, mick smoked him paddling back out.
Yeah a bit more size at the bells bowl would have made it more interesting.
Taj is doing ok so far.
A 3rd, 13th & a 2nd Coming 5th on the tour rankings.
Now they will go to rio and surf some 2 foot beach break.
