Pearce is a quality player and he brings alot of energy to the team, I would pair him up with Maloney without a second thought. Saying he can't get it done is like saying Hodko can cause he scored that one try one time
There's plenty of other precious ****s in these blues team that need to step up

There hasn't been a NSW half since joey who has been able to dominate at Origin level and he was one of the greatest ever
I agree although I lean towards A Reynolds just because I think we need a dominating kicking game to beat QLD.

1. Tedesco
2. Ferguson
3. Graham ( radical but more to offer the left side attack and defence )
4. Walker
5. Trbojevic
6. Maloney
7. Reynolds
8. Vaughan
9. Peats
10. Woods
11. Frizell
12. Cordner
13. Merrin

14. Fifita
15. Klemmer
16. Moylan
17. Peachey

Un-orthodox but best 17
Honorable omissions Hayne (not fit ) , Tamou ( never enough mongral ) Pearce ( team mascot wouldn't be safe ) . Bird ( you're good , but not that good yet )
Graham in the centres :lmao

Yep , on the surface rediculous .
But a hard running ball playing body outside the halves and Cordner running the lines could provide havoc in the opposition 20m.
And good luck to the QLD attack getting thru that side too .
Graham on the left with Cordner wouldn't let the state down .
Sometimes you've got to think outside of the square .

They would expose Graham with ease by running the quick blokes at him & points would come easily

Just for fun ... here's how the Blues side would look after round 7 if you selected based on the Dally M points, without playing anyone out of position, assuming a bench of middle/middle/edge/utility, and choosing incumbent/experienced players over new players where there is a tie for points:

1. Tedesco
2. T. Trbojevic
3. Walker
4. Leilua
5. Dugan / B. Morris
6. Keary
7. Pearce
8. Paulo
9. Farah
10. Vaughan
11. Graham
12. Cordner
13. de Belin
-
14. J. Trbojevic
15. Barnett / Campbell-Gillard
16. Lewis
17. J. Reynolds

For what it's worth, it shows that NSW are at least looking at form a little bit. It's missing Maloney, Woods, Klemmer and Frizzel but otherwise you are pretty close to what the actual team will be. Dally M points is not an ideal way to pick the side but in this case it shows that NSW has their eye on some of the right guys.

Farah has earned Dally M Points? Seriously? Or has no hooker from NSW earned any thus far putting the incumbent in?

Farah has 3 points. Matt McIlwrick and Cameron McInnes each have 2. Cook has 1.

If we were re-arranging positions to fit in the guys with the highest points we would have something like this .. since Maloney has more points than Farah.

6. Maloney
9. J Reynolds
17. Keary

As a fellow Qlder I value your opinion ... but Josh Mansour won't play until after origin mate ... so you need a new winger. Slide Fergo out there.

[h=1]Meninga calls for Keary to be a Maroon[/h]
The good old State of Origin eligibility debate is a hot topic again with Blues coach Laurie Daley sizing up to give Luke Keary the chance to make his Origin debut.

Queensland legend Greg Inglis was involved in the biggest defection in Origin history, pledging his allegiance despite being born and raised in the New South Wales town of Kempsey.

Now Kangaroos coach Mal Meninga wants the NRL's approval to allow Keary to wear the Maroons jersey as soon as this year.
"I was part of that process where we looked at Luke and Luke wanted to play for Queensland," Meninga told Queenslanders Only on Fox Sports.

"His parents are born in Ipswich, they came south because his dad got a job in Sydney. He idolised Alf (Allan Langer) growing up in Ipswich as well.

"I agree with the criteria, it's got to be black and white. But the problem with this case in particular was there was no appeals process.

"The CEO, who was Dave Smith at the time, said no, we're just going off the criteria. I think there should at least be an independent appeals process if he's born in Queensland, he wants to play for Queensland, his parents want him to play for Queensland."
The criteria has some clear cut points that need to be met, and in Keary's case, the final verdict suggests he is a Blue.

- Which state were you born in? The Roosters half was born in Ipswich, Queensland

- In which State did you play Rugby League for the majority of years from U/6 - U/18? Keary moved Sydney at the age of 10 and played junior rugby league with the Hills District Bulls.
- In which State of Australia did you spend the majority of years at School? (K-12) Oakhill College in New South Wales.
- For which State of Australia did you first play School State Representative Rugby League? He represented the New South Wales Combined Independent Schools (NSWCIS) rugby league team at the Under 18's National Championships.
The last two questions surround which state you played in a junior representative competition (Matthews/Connell/Ball/Meninga) and whether or not your father played for a state, which are both inapplicable to Keary, qualifying him for three of the four eligibility questions.

The 25-year-old has stated in the past his ambitions to play for the Maroons, but rules are rules and Laurie Daley has the option to choose Keary if required.

Not relevant to Keary, but I'm not a big fan of junior/school rep footy being part of the criteria - at least not "where they played first" anyway. I think those should probably be "majority" questions too.

What's Meninga got to do with it?

Unless Keary wants to play with NZ because he found Kiwi 20c coin in his change this morning, Meninga needs to stfu

Alright I'll give this a go, I've left out some big names so I'm expecting to cop some flak. Keep in mind this is the team I'd pick, not the team I think Daley will pick. So here goes:

1. James Tedesco
2. Brett Morris
3. Micheal Jennings
4. Joseph Leilua
5. Tom Trbojevic
6. James Maloney (vc)
7. Adam Reynolds
8. Andrew Fifita
9. Nathan Peats
10. Paul Vaughan
11. Boyd Cordner
12. Josh Jackson
13. Tyson Frizzell

14. Jack Bird
15. Jake Trbojevic
16. Wade Graham
17. Junior Paulo (if he's eligible)

Big omissions: Aaron Woods, David Klemmer, Mitchell Pearce, Josh Dugan, Jarryd Hayne, Matt Moylan, James Tamou and Jack De Bellin.

Alright gimme a sec here (installs bulletproof glass) ok I'm ready, let me have it boys.

Junior Paulo over Woods, Klemmer, De Belin is a massive head scratcher for mine.

Also B-Moz and Jennings are past it imo.

I just think his size and impact is going to work well with a four man prop rotation. Admittedly was very hard leaving De Bellin and Klemmer out. I think Jennings deserves another go around and I wouldn't be picking Morris if Mansour was fit and firing.

Understandable given his impact carrying the ball, but he's a lazy **** in D after 10 minutes of action. You just know QLD would game plan to attack his laziness through the middle which could cost NSW a try or two.

Much rather a guy like Friz or JDB who work their asses off coming off the bench.
