I think you can lock in those bold ones barring injury. I also think Dugan is a guarantee.

Providing he remains fit ofcourse Slater will be picked, regardless of what smoke QLD throw around about it not being guaranteed he will be there and I don't blame them either

In regards to Moylan for NSW, I thought he went ok last year, copped some unwarranted flak. Did some good and not so good things but overall was reasonable and showed promise, I think he has a bit of grit under that fresh faced exterior

I would have Teddy at FB though, Bird some sort of utlity role if form warrants it

1 Tedesco
2 B. Morris
3 Bird
4 Hayne
5 Trbojevic
6 Maloney
7 Reynolds (Pearce next choice not far behind)
8 Woods
9 McInnes
10 Prior
11 Cordner (c)
12 Frizzell
13 DeBelin

14 Peachey (Austin next choice not far behind)
15 Fifita
16 Klemmer
17 Graham

Thinking about our hooking options no one really deserves to be there. McInnes has been very solid in defense so he gets the nod for me though I'm not happy with the option.

The utility I hate the idea of Moylan, he isn't someone that could replace a forward successfully. Peachey would be my first choice, he covers centre, 5/8, backrow & hooker, Austin can probably cover the same as well as fullback but I'd put Hayne/Turbo/Morris back there before him.

I actually thought about Vaughan rather than Klemmer. Prior I just think will be an ideal starting prop for origin.

Being a Queenslander ... I just want Val in for the Mighty Maroons ... but here's my Blues side just for s's and g's: This is nothing like what I think Daley will actually pick. No room for Wade, Prior or Bird in my side :(

1. Coote - IMHO the Blues need a ball playing #1 rather than just a guy who is good at running with it (Dugan/Teddy). Very good kicking game too.
2. Tedesco
3. Walker (R)
4. Dugan (L)
5. Trbojevic
6. Maloney
7. Cleary - FFS don't pick Pearce again guys. He's proven over and over that he can't get it done. Reynolds is acceptable, but I think having Maloney in there means he can be the general and you can pick a young #7.
8. Woods
9. Brailey - yep - I'm serious ... Qld called Smith in to Origin after playing ~15 games. Time to blood someone guys. I think the door is closed on Wallace.
10. Fifita
11. Cordner (c)
12. Jackson
13. Merrin

14. Vaughan
15. Klemmer
16. Frizzel
17. Austin - best option for bench dummy half IMO

Any other Queenslanders on here like me what does everyone think about Slater returning? For me, a straight out no. Getting too old now, will never have the same ability as he did years ago again. Either stick with Boyd for this series or start fresh & start either Holmes or Munster from Melbourne.
As for NSW, here is my side for you guys

1. Tedesco
2. Morris
3. Ferguson
4. Walker
5. Trbojevic
6. Maloney
7. Reynolds
8. Fifita
9. Peats
10. Woods
11. Frizell
12. Graham
13. Merrin

14. Peachey
15. Bird
16. Klemmer
17. Tamou

Does anyone think Bukuya will ever have Origin potential for QLD? I don't think he'll ever get picked unfortunately because we just have too much depth before him. He wouldn't go bad in Origin for me though.

Holmes wouldn't look a bad fb for QLD I dont think, neither a winger either if Boyd is preferred at fb.

Slater is a deadset certaintly for the FB spot for QLD and Australia. I've been amazed at how well he's come back, hasn't lost much at all.

He was in the emerging squad. I think he is good a bench player as Gavin Cooper - particularly given that JB can play edge or middle with equal effectiveness. Ultimately I think he suffers from not playing for a QLD based team, but even saying that he would be a little down the pecking order for Qld back rowers.

If you say that there are 10 spots available (6 forwards, 4 bench) ... there isn't much wiggle room for him to fit in. ... I'd say he has a shot if Ethan Lowe gets injured - since he's a good comparison (plays edge and middle quite well). I don't think he would let anyone down if he got the call.

10. Woods
11. Frizell
12. Cordner
13. Merrin

14. Fifita

Cohen Hess may be a possibility this year, I certainly wouldn't rule him out yet. Guerra is within a chance aswell. Always depends on the teams form though. Your right about Bukuya, if there are a few injuries to come & we are in good form he may be within a good chance of playing. He has been solid so far for us this year.

Pearce is a quality player and he brings alot of energy to the team, I would pair him up with Maloney without a second thought. Saying he can't get it done is like saying Hodko can cause he scored that one try one time
There's plenty of other precious ****s in these blues team that need to step up

There hasn't been a NSW half since joey who has been able to dominate at Origin level and he was one of the greatest ever
