I shall continue to boycott State of Origin, didn’t watch the first game and couldn’t be happier. Cheating refs have ruined Origin. Crap administrators have ruined Origin. Successive poor NSW coaches had the wrong tactics year after year. Poor NSW selectors have picked the wrong players year after year.

Tim Grant is at least 2 years ahead of Woods in development- I've been a fan of his for a couple of seasons. He's a very, very good selection. He's about 2 metres tall and heavy, but still mobile, like Tamou. Loves doing the dirty stuff. He's been dominating for Penrith with his carries for 3 years now.

If you haven't seen that then you haven't watched Penrith closely enough.

It gives NSW two ENORMOUS front rowers who can match Scott/Petro/Shillington. Go forward will no longer be an issue.

I really like that NSW team. Far and away the best side that's been picked for the last few years. Very dangerous 1/6/7/9, great pack with size, experience , grit and creativity... plus some weapons in the 3/4 line.

I like the idea of another prop. HOWEVER i think having a 1 prop, 2 back row and 1 utility woulda been a better option for them.

In the front row, Gallen does about the same work as 2 props. If he either plays there at 80, or goes a 40 minute stint in the front row, he effectively uses a props place. Having 1 on the bench to relieve the other prop (Tamou) is good, Watmough and Lewis are good as 2nd row options (once Gallen shifts to front row id say) but Creagh ****s me, and Jamie Lyon woulda been a great addition to the bench IMO

Jamie lyon on the bench???? seriously? what role would he play? Would be a waste of a bench position IMO.

Personally i think it is the best side nsw have picked in years. It is the most complete side. Tim Grant has good go forward and does a lot of work. He will suit starting with Tomou. Adding choc and Grant over Williams and Bruher is a massive improvement IMO. It is a pity williams did get injured though, i think he will develop into a good origin player.

good team, best we could of picked.

Grant would of been there for game one if he wasn't injured to start the year.

He and watmough were who I wanted to come in so i'm very happy. Anyone laughing at grant's selection will be surprised!

Im saying as utility, he could cover hooker if needed, and really would fit into any position 2-7 if needed. Wouldnt be the best, but if any of our 1-7 get injured in this game, we are ****ed.
