Which task? I saw him come on, make some decent tackles and force an error in his first two minutes.
I'm pretty sure he came on in the middle and missed maybe Ponga having a little dart at is inside shoulder.

Don't get me wrong, he wasn't terrible. He was definitely used incorrectly, in my opinion. He didn't contribute significantly to the loss, I really don't see how he could be too upset, so disappointed that it continues to affect him.

I think the "in your face" attitude works in footy but it's a different question if one can bring that attitude, energy and agressiveness week after week.
In your face is just code for being offside all night. Origin and finals (well except the Perth game) are reffed differently then regular club games and there's no chance we don't cop it in a round 19 game in Penrith.

2 things:

– A sports psych after a loss he played little part in? I'd hope he's a bit mentally tougher than that.
– I also hope we go into the panthers game with a fair bit of internal pressure/expectation on ourselves to do well. They are not unbeatable by any stretch. QLD have provided 2 pretty good blueprints for how to combat the Penrith game. It's not beyond us but we'll all need to be firing and I think Sifa would be better off just getting back to business on Friday than stew about origin then face Penrith.
Yep, back on the bike I reckon

We'd get penalised out of the game if we used the same template Qld used.
Well obviously and unfortunately we can't play by origin rules, but belting Yeo, keeping up the kick pressure on Cleary and giving Luia limited time to get the footwork on and close the gate for the ball back under to Kikau can still be done at NRL level.

It's tough, but doable.

Against Penrith I'd also have my markers attempting kick pressure, run into the Penrith forwards who provide a wall of protection for Cleary and fall over blowing up for a penalty every time. JFH is always in front of Cleary (usually in line with the bloke playing the ball) and obstructing the markers getting to him. Surely if we kept hitting their blockers and making a fuss the ref would give us a couple.

I’ve missed a fair bit of footy this year as I’m traveling but have they started to penalise this now. If so about ****en time.

No, they haven't. That's why I reckon we go out and expose it, and, hopefully, exploit it to our advantage.

Shoot this through to Talakai:
It just wasn't your night.
Ponga was beating everyone. Don't beat yourself up.
The service to you was shithouse.
You were on the wrong end of a 50/50 penalty.
You shouldn't have been asked to play that role at that time, it was bad coaching and put pressure on everyone.
Take everything you learned in camp and bring it to clubland. It's what the selectors will be looking at now.
You were good enough to be picked. You still are.
Go kill some QLD c*nts tomorrow.

They've been doing this for three years now, it's bullshit how they keep getting away with it.

We can try and run into them and kick up a stink but I bet nothing changes.

Massive blight on the game imo.

Admittedly I don’t watch panthers games. But just reading what you guys are saying about blocking for Cleary (I have actually heard media talking it before), I just skipped through 1 half of their game against against roosters and yep, a blocker nearly every time.

The nrl allows this?

You can’t have a blocker but in practice if someone just happens to be standing there and doesn’t move then it isn’t penalised.
You can’t just blast into them either as in theory they aren’t doing anything wrong.

Check out this game winning field goal from DCE last year.

The NRL released a statement after this one saying that the blockers are fine. It's become the NFL.

All NRL/senior teams do it, and plenty of non-professional teams too. I've even seen an u11's team do it.

You see them directly besides the Play the ball and move directly in the way of the chasing markers. It’s widely used now.

haha yeah they need to penalise that, warriors were doing it also in those highlights

If refs aren't going to penalise, we should do it also

It's just funny when it's the same player every time
