mate I'll tell the bloke who told me, he'll get a laugh out being compared to that.
from a mate who knows a current sharks player, but this guy does tend to talk up a story more than it is at times, but its hard to believe a player would be this much in the loop considering its the off season & training has started back yet.
no mate, I'm not a beating my own chest sort of guy, the opposite actually, if this doesnt end up happening I end up looking like a bulls#*ter.

isnt it more important to develop a halves pair for the long term? if we do sign carney, it would just be for a year or two or until he makes a public twat out of himself again and is forced to resign or the sharks are forced to fire him.

I think confidence is a big part of their development. Confidence from the player and confidence from the coaching staff by having faith they will get the job done.
Trying to see the positive side in everything I hope he will be a person to emulate(on the field) for the younger guys. That's the only positive I have :/

A mate of mine is a dragon's supporter and lent me his log in so i could have a look at their forum, only members can view.
And there is a thread about carney with the story about the guy owning the pub in Thailand. There are a few other posts independent to that one that Carney has been telling people in Thailand that he is coming to the Sharks and another that Flanagan is confident he will sign.
Seems he's been having a good time on the drink over there from the reports, not that that is a crime.
If his head is right and deal is good for us I can't see Carney joining as being a bad thing, we'll still have plenty of options in the half if he does fall apart.
