If we used Red Rooster as a caterer and they took two hours to serve someone a pie it'd be Red Roosters fault right?

It's Cuthbo's fault in everyones eyes but the media.

We all know the Big C quit KFC to work for Red Rooster. He even wears the red and white uniform on his game day.

I'm not saying don't sign Carney but there aint exactly nothing to lose here
remember when we took a chance on reni maituia after he got sacked, we were certainly the losers from that situation.

The bastard even had the nerve to claim pending his nrl return that he owed the bulldogs the team that sacked him for F^%$ing up and yet neglected to mention the team he F^%$ed up at to the point that judicial intervention took place in his getting banned during one of the most unstable and scrutinized times in cronulla's history,,,,the dude is still yet to apologize to the club, at that time with every thing else that was going on sex scandal, zappia, LG, he took us to the brink right at rock bottom.

but the good thing is sometimes you need to hit rock bottom to make it to the top again, all these things should be considered when signing carney or not

Read an article in the SMH that featured Damien Irvine saying no approach had been made and that he suspects there are some in the media who have seen Flanno speaking to Riolo, who manages a handful of Sharks players (including Poms and Hot Dog) and have created a story around it.

This makes alot of sense but Flanno and Gal whenever they have spoken have not been as clear as that and seem somewhat interested. I really hope we sign him as even though it will be a huge risk and we will cop a bunch of **** from the media, I think we could really use him next year.

I don't know what to believe with this anymore.

The News press are saying we are talking with him and the Fairfax press are saying we aren't interested.

I just wish the club would get this sorted out as it is getting very tedious atm.

There's no rush. It is a tough decision and there will need to be alot of negotiation surrounding a few aspects of the contract, like what happens if Carney screws up again etc. Can't rush into a thing like this. Plus, would be very embarrassing if he turned us down so I wouldn't want them to make it public yet. What if negotiations broke down so we look so desperate that we couldn't even land Carney? We'd get the bad press without the player. That's assuming there is something going on. Otherwise the story will eventually go away because we don't sign him.

The brilliance and skill of Carney, plus the lionheart, unstoppable brute force of Gallen in the same team is very appealing....

It would also be good to have another genuine rep player if he was the NSW 6.

Im sitting on the fence so much my arse is bleeding.

that article is pure fluff.

As mentioned in the SMH article today, David Riolo manages several Sharks players, including Gallen. Just because the Sharks are speaking with him it doesn't mean that they are speaking about Carney. The line about the Sharks are "expected to have sit-down talks with the sacked Rooster in coming days" is pure fluff. There is no evidence, nor does the article state where they got such information. Therefore, one can only assume, it has been made up.

Mate my arse will bleed with ya. As a player, in good form, Carney is top notch.

I dont believe his indiscretions this year were major. the DUI charge to me, could happen to anyone, have a big night, or some beers into the early hours of the morning, even with a sleep, shower and coffee you will be over the limit. Day after origin 2 im pretty sure at 10am when i was working in a quarry and i had the illusion that i was laying down but was still standing, i was not fit for work, let alone the 60k drive to said quarry.

All i mean there is, i dont think that DUI incident, he got in the car knowing he was over, as in he said, well im drunk but gotta go! Could happen to 90% of road users 18-40 on a weekend. The other 2 were trouble free beers the media just brewed into a **** storm. IMO he hasnt gone rampaging through town, hasnt pissed on anyone, hasnt got violent (to the publics knowledge anyway) but alberts gettin love for kicking in chairs and knocking down tables like he is rehearsing for a pet shop boys film clip

Sign him, the good he can do on the field far out weighs wat he will do off the field. He will know, and the NRL, and any club signing him will make it very clear that any **** ups will be dealt with in only 1 way
