Now is everyone else of the opinion that a line up consisting of say

1. Gardner
6. Carney
7. Kelly (or 6. Kelly)
9. De gois
13. Graham

With Gallen in 2nd row

Would you say that is better than the 2011

1. Gardner
6. Graham
7. Townsend (since he was the one who played in the most winning games Ill use him)
9. Morris
13. Gallen

I think its better. Graham at lock is just the same as the earlier days of Gallen playing there. Got a bit of power, ball movement, and the odd kick or 2. As much as I love Morris for his ability and hardwork, its hard to find a place for him. But I think with that spine. Morris can start from the bench, or him and Degois do a bit of switch a roo-ing. If Degois is still carrying some leg pain

The more attacking options on the paddock, while still maintaining strength and power the better.

i think that will be it. i think Kelly could be an exciting 7. But, and I'll get bagged for this, don't discard Robson, he could be the cool head we need to get us around the park, especially with carney/gardner and the other youngsters coming through

yeah I agree, Robson may definately be called upon. Kelly or Carney could easily go down injured. I do think though that Townsend needs a year in NSW cup at least, to get some solid game time against NRL players or players of NRL standard anyway. Toyota Cup is a game of touch footy, He needs to get into that rougher slog of NRL style footy. As its a world from toyota cup

That is just a stupid question. I can't see anyone saying that isn't better than this year.

Its not a stupid question. This is a sporting team, 1 we want to be competitive, people who say we dont need him, need to think of the big picture.

theres still people who believe that Carney shouldnt come. Whether is be because of previous behaviour, or their opinion of his game i dunno. But on the field will be an asset to the team in every way. If he ****s up off it, I really dont see it being a huge huge deal for the club. 1, by the time he ****s up the development should:hoping be in its early stages, meaning by then, if sponsors bail, or what not, the club will financially be in a better place than now. If he doesnt, and sticks to his guns, plays hard, we will see results we havent seen in 3 years. Remember 2008 where we were 1 week from Grand Final fever? If it wasnt for 1 Bird and his Bird having a tiff, and 1 5/8 tweaking his knee, we woulda had a chance against the Storm.

No one in their right mind is going to say the 2011 spine is better than the new one. No matter how against carney they may be.

You never know mate, theres some negative people around here.

End of the day, we needed to change our team around ALOT from the last 3 years. Its all well and good to Say snowy and Douglass are huge losses for us, but really, they havent achieved us anymore success than Cordoba or Mannah.

They are replaceable, 2 big boys with a ball in their hand. Easy to produce IMO

I am yet to see someone opposed to Carney say it is because of his on field ability. I believe some have questioned how hyped up he is but not to the extent they dont want him here for those reasons.

But isnt the aim here for the club to win some games? Carney will do that.

Forget his off field ****, he hasnt signed yet, nor has he misbehaved as a Sharks player. Like i said before. Come next season when we are seeing if he is either worth the gamble or not, hopefully the development is looking up, and financial issues are at all all time low for us.

Remember, Carney, no Carney, win or lose. We need this development for survival. Or some other huge form of money coming in. A premiership would definately attract some coin from sponsors, but it wouldnt delete our debts.

What Carney does off the field IMO will not affect the development side of things, which is our future, so I dont see him as a huge risk for us. Because really, its now or never for the club

Thats my other concern other then his off-field stuff. He was ***** last year, people can blame distractions and all that stuff, but really, can he reclaim the form he had two years ago? It sure is a long time, just ask Daniel Mortimer.

exactly. Carney is a football player, not a businessman.

When people with more money than he can ever comprehend come along wanting to build high rises and shopping malls, him going out on the piss, and the what effect it has on the footy club this is all built around is not a consideration either.

The people complaining about the development are the same sort of people who would happily let the same thing happen if it wasnt near them. They are whingers, and they will not win

last year was more to do with mental state and injury more than bad form

but what helps you sleep at night

I have no trouble sleeping at night, alcohol does the job nicely.

2 years is a long time, it really is a legitimate question if he can regain his form after such a ***** year last year, I just hope he doesn't become another Tim Smith.
