with any luck the ulimatum will turn him off...

well apparently our odds have drop from 51-1 to 34-1 to win comp based only on carney being close to signing with us. So provided he stays out of trouble our chances of good season are much better. plus the fact that surely carney knows he is on his last chance.
also if he does stuff up i think he is more likely to do it in the 2nd year when he will think he less chance of being sacked, i think townsend will benefit from another year in nsw cup & i think he will ready to step up if needed.
for these reasons i think it is worth taking a chance with carney. Plus he is very cheap this year because of his history of off field troubles.

If betting margins were an accurate indication of anyone's chances at winning the comp, we'd have gotten the spoon for the last couple of years.

Although I stand by my reasons for my original opinion, I'm gunna formally state that I'm now FOR the signing of Carney. Gallen convinced me.

i agree betting odds are not a accurate indication of any teams chances of winning the comp, but at the same time i think our chances of finishing in top 8 or even top 4 are much better with carney than without him. the change in our odds reflect this.

Exactly. But even so, as much as finals footy would be great, just to remain competitive for the season would be great. Like if we just missed the finals itd be dissapointing, but its better than 6 weeks out from the last round we know we are no chance.

good work now we need matty shark to get aboard and we are done.... im a little worried that it would seem that toddy himself isnt that keen to come here so i hope he comes with the right mindset. would love to hear from fitz or el coconut after the deal either happens or falls through if toddy really is/was that keen to get here or did we just luck into the signing through his lack of options... i like flano's deadline idea though has long been overdue....

the channel 10 sports guy when announcing the roosters signing of daniel moritmer said that he had been signed to replace sharks bound carney. that is pretty good indication that he will sign with us soon. otherwise he is going to look like goose if carney signs with another team.

Someone in the media getting information wrong, looking like a goose, and jumping the gun... No! NEVER!

id like to hope that but alot of journos etc. are referring to carney as cronulla-bound,

im thinking the same as you, but you cant really be sure until that signiatures on the dotted line

I have a feeling that a mortimer/pearce combo is going to be a lot better than people expect.

I am suprised parramatta have not played for carney.
