Rick Bourke (146, 38 tries) and Chris Gardner (102 games, 44 tries) both streets ahead of Howland, Covell and Barnett as far as great Cronulla wingers are concerned.

Where are you, old timers!!!!!

Heres the problem though hey. People from different eras only have a certain time period to remember.

Never saw those 2 play so cant comment.

To make fair teams youd almost have to make a top 17 per team per decade

Anyone that seen Richie Barnett would have to be impressed, he was very good for us, no disrepct to Colin Best but I would take a 75% fit Barnett over Colin Best "best days" every day of the week.

I don't remember all that much about Richie Barnett to be honest mainly his performances in the 2000 World Cup.

Matt Rogers is certainly one of the top two. I'd put either Bourke or Gardner as the other.

Covell was overrated, wouldn't have played half the games he did if he couldn't kick goals
Rogers and Barnett for mine
Best wasn't the best either at a young age, was scared of getting tackled

He features a couple of times in that Peachey video that I posted in the other thread. Good player.
Yeah I watched that every night for about a year when I first saw it (which incidentally I didn't remember him playing for us at all until I saw that video). I don't remember much of footy before say 1998 bar rep games which the old man had on tape that I used to watch all the time.

Barnett was a freak in that 2000 world cup there is no doubting that and he probably would be above Best if I remembered more from his time with Cronulla.

He's (cov) my version of what pomeroy is for you. I actually thought despite lacking pace he did all the little things right, positioning etc, to make up for it.

Best, never rated him at all.

cov was safe, but his lack of pace cost us plenty of tries. Doesn't deserve to be considered in the top 2 wingers to play for the sharks imo

I took it as a swipe at the likes of Covell.
