We have three mad centres. S. Rogers, M McGaw, A Ettingshausen. One of those should probably be chucked on a wing.

ET did a fair stint at wing and fb too didnt he as a pup?

we have 4 centres by the way.

S. Rogers M. McGaw A.Ettingshausen B. Pomeroy

Rat is obvious, but my other pick was Barnett.

Covell was the slowest man in professional sport and played on the wing in RL. That made him an under dog so I can understand why he was a bit of a fan favourite, but minus the goal kicking he wasn't anything remotely special.

Yep i think Cov was special to us as he was an all round good bloke, and his come-back from the ACL was insane. That surgery was new (and as far as i remember the only NRL player so far to recieve it?), 12 weeks from injury to playing 1 game in reserves. Ill still never forget his intercept in his last home game

Scored a hattrick against Canberra in a semi in 2008. Therefore, he's the greatest Shark of all time...

I know, because Poms achieved the same thing against Canberra in a different game.
Hmm Stapo got 4 tries against Warriors, bit of a trend here...

Stapo bagged 4, and love him or hate him, he got dropped a game later. Out of our 2014 squad.

Rough.

1) Mat Rogers - aka "Son of God". As a footballer he was like his dad.... quality quality quality. Fast, elusive and great in defence and also actually able to do something on a football field better than his famous father Steve - kick goals. Steve was a very good goal kicker (the guy could do anything) but Mat was a superb goal kicker. A complete footballer.
2) Ray Corcoran - "WHO?"... I hear you asking. Ray was probably THE most spectacular try scorer the Sharks ever had. He had several things that enabled the guy to get the crowd to its feet EVERY time he touched the ball... he was FAST (one of the fastest wingers we ever had)... he had a SIDESTEP that had to be seen to be believed (he seemed capable of changing direction 90 degrees at almost full pace - think Tuivasa-Schek on speed) ...and he knew where the try line was (but usually had NO CLUE which course he was going to sail to reach it). Without a word of a lie I've seen the guy beat the same player THREE times in a run to the try line plus another time he took the ball on his left wing and beat at least 10 players and 80 metres later scored on the right wing. Now for the reason he was only number 2 winger. The guy's idea of defence was often to allow his opponent to go past him, turn and chase (he'd run him down very quickly - Ray had no shortage of pace) before leaping onto his back and riding him into the ground. In a word - terrible... but everyone who saw him play remembers the crowd's roar when he got the ball. Scored 63 tries in just 108 games at a time when we used to finish closer to last than first every year.
3) Dean Carney - the "runaway Mack truck" of Sharks wingers over the years with only 28 tries from 65 games, but every one of them left some opponent counting bruises and wishing he didn't stand between Carney and the try line that day. Thighs like a Xmas ham. Kicked goals as well.
4) Richie Barnett - quality Kiwi finisher who found the line better than most wingers we've had.
5) Steve Edmonds - blonde surfie type with speed and power who, like ET after him, attracted a small army of young females to game days when he played. He's also my neighbour so I had to include him or he'll put his trash in my bin.

Honorable mentions to Glenn Coleman, Dave Chamberlin, Rick Bourke and Brett Howland. Luke Covell.... I love ya dude, but fair dinkum, my mom's Xmas custard sets faster than those flying feet of yours used to move.Great kicker though.

I really should add Chris Gardiner to that list of honorable mentions. I played cricket with him for a few seasons and he'll be pi$$ed off if I leave him out. LOL !
