Thanks, seems like a common theme. Hopefully the club has records of "Player of the Year" awards prior to 1989 (you'd assume so), and that these two are eligible based on that, and get proper consideration.
Hope you’ve shared the SF players of the year awards to help the club with their decision making 😉

So is the Hall of Fame more prestigious then Sharks Immortals? I thought we already had Immortals or have I imagined it?

I think it's effectively replacing it, club probably decided immortals would exclude too many players who deserved to acknowledged

Oh…. Thats a strange thing to do, they could of had both, like the NRL. Immortals reserved for the absolute top of the pile like Gal and ET, extremely rare that someone does enough to join the ranks, maybe a new one added every 10-15 years, and the Hall of Fame can be just that step behind.

Strange if they’re binning the Immortals.

I missed the arvo & couldn't keep up with the night in general unfortunately. I saw ET, Peachey & Matty Rogers got the places. Any other players got included?

That's what I was hoping they'd do by announcing Gal as an immortal tonight

So there are now 11 in the Hall of Fame:

The 5 Immortals (Greg Pierce, Steve Rogers, Tommy Bishop, Gavin Miller, ET)

And 6 brand new inductees:

Dane Sorensen
David Peachey
Mat Rogers
Jason Stevens
Brett Kimmorley
Paul Gallen

To answer a previous question, there are both Immortals and Hall of Fame

Previous Immortals were automatically inducted into the Hall of Fame.

When they announce an Immortal in the future (#cough#Gal), it will no doubt come from someone already in the Hall of Fame.
