Thanks so much to everyone who's donated, and to fitz for organising it.
As you know it's all going back to the club... but hopefully with the extra benefit of growing our community here through the plaque, and so getting more Sharks fans involved in the club! Awesome effort!

Yeah, sorry Fitz, I should have clarified what I was trying to say. I had no intention of including the amounts donated by members as, obviously, everyones financial circumstances are different. I just though it would be nice if everyone who donated got a mention, even if it was just a dollar, as it is nice for everyone to get some recognition. Might even motivate a few people to throw in a few bucks!

WOOHOO!
I'll be going down to the Club in the next day or so to make the purchase.
I'm still taking donations for the 2x CSSC Memberships and for that our balance is $86.50. The Target is $500 so we're already about a sixth of the way there!

A great effort everyone - I was a little sceptical at first that we'd raise the $$, but it was an awesome effort. Thankyou to whoever it is that had the idea and organised it.
Just a question, though... I haven't seen anywhere that sponsors will be listed with the names on the members jersey. Therefore, the club may not look so fondly on listing a web address on there as it may not really fit with the theme... Just making sure that somebody has checked with the club...?

From what I overheard when I was at the Leagues Club last, people have successfully put their pets names on the jersey in lieu of their own. You would think, under this criterion, that the website name would fit the bill.

If I sell advertising space on my border collie and plaster him in ads then get his name on the jersey, the chances his name being seen on the jersey will increase the amount of people who end up view the ads I've covered him are zero. If I sell advertising space on my website and plaster it with ads then get the address on the jersey, the chances someone sees it on the jersey and has a squiz are pretty high I'd reckon. Even more so if the web address is obviously Sharks related and on a members jersey.

I've received an email from Jarrod Johnstone, Sharks Stadium and Retail Manager this morning and he has advised that there is no problem whatsoever in Sharks Forever purchasing 2x CSSC Ticketed Memberships and having the name sharksforever.com embedded into the member's jersey.
So let's get this one over the line too. I see this as a great way of helping the Club as well as Sharks Forever position and promote themselves in the community.
Once the Wall of Support Plaque is paid for, we'll have $126.50 in the bank. The target is $500 so we're already a quarter of the way there!
There's less than two weeks before the deadline for inclusion on the Sharks Member's jersey - I'd love to see sharksforever.com as one of the embedded names in the jersey.
The idea is this:
We buy 2 Ticketed CSSC Memberships for use by Sharks Forever to use as a gift or giveaway (on a home-game-weekly basis) to a contributor on this forum who has exemplified all that is good and true in Sharkness.
The offer would be that the winner would be offered a ticket for two to attend a home game and sit with the CSSC. If you're already a CSSC member, you could choose to offer it to a friend or whatever to come to the footy with you.
Also, we could use it as a give-away to someone in the Sharks Community that is doing it a bit tough... perhaps offer it to local community groups that work with disabled / disadvantaged kids.
By buying 2x CSSC Memberships, it would entitle sharksforever.com to be displyed twice on the Member's jersey and also give us the opportunity of rewarding our sharksforever members with a double pass to sit with the CSSC. This would a particularly great thing if we were to offer those passes to our interstate members and to the families of some of our new recruits... I'm just hoping that the CSSC would go ouit of their way to ensure that these newbies are shown a seriously good time!
