Okay people, after speaking to Fitz on Sunday, I have organised the tickets to be given away for tonights game against the Bunnies.

Given it was short notice, I took the quickest option which was to dress up in all my Sharks supporters gear (looking "like a tool", was how my wife put it!) and went along to the morning assembly at Loftus Public School and made an announcement that anyone who was a Sharkies fan and wants to sit with the CSSC while we have Easter Bunnies for dinner can go in the draw.

One thing I'm sure you will all be glad to hear. When I asked the kids to put their hand up if they were a mighty Sharks fan, at least three quarters of the school put their hand up. This was a great encouragement for me as I was worrying it would be alot less.

When I announced what the prize would be, the kids seemed really excited and there was a massive amount of interest, so that is a great sign for the Club. The grassroots support is out there, we just have to lock 'em in. (By the way, quite a few of the teachers asked me if they could go in the draw too!)

So, tonights lucky winners will be a kid from Loftus Public School and a parent. They will be sitting in Bay 12: Row F, seats 4 & 5. If you are in the CSSC and you are at the game tonight, make sure you say "G'day" and make them feel welcome. I think this will go a long way towards promoting the team in our local community.:cheers

I hope for your kid's sake they don't go to Loftus Public School.

You'd be a shocker of an old man. Funny if you're not the kid, though.

Checked out the Wall of Support for the first time on Monday after the Bunnies game and it looked very impressive, with the Sharks Forever plaque shining bright even amidst the gloom of a rainy night and another heartbreaking loss. Big ups to Fitz for this initiative :good: Even found my own plaque, up the top next to a certain El Coco!

All my plans have fallen flat this week

No point in having them go to waste.

Ok!

We have a taker...

I just spoke to the welfare officer at Cronulla St Vincent de Paul and they're more than happy to pass the two tickets on to a family in the area who is doing it a bit tough. They thanked us profusely for the offer.

I'll be dropping the tickets off to the welfare officer tomorrow morning.

Nice job, Fitz. I will make a call to Talkin Sport tomorrow arvo to let them know the result, as Graham Hughes requested.
I may even have a little dig at St Merge as they once again fall short against the Storm.

By the way mate, don't forget to give me a call if you need help finding a worthy recipient for The Cage tickets.:cheers

I didnt notice them there.

Maybe St Vinnies didn't manage to give them out in time. Are there any plans underway to give the tickets out for next home game?

I don't know if this would be possible or not but could a local radio station be approached to give away the tickets to the most worthy Sharks supporter? This may give some extra publicity to the team as well as the Sharksforever site and may hopefully spur some locals to come to the game.

Just a thought....

In an amazing coincidence of parallel thinking, Ironshark and I have had a very similar thought to this... we will keep you posted.

Sharks v Knights game nominations

Just to let everyone know...

I've been discussing the allocation of the next 2 tickets with the President of Miranda RSL.

What we're trying to organise is the two tickets for the Knights game to go to two Diggers as a mark of respect for the ANZAC Day weekend.

I'll keep you posted - they're just trying to find the people who they think will best benefit.

If this goes ahead, I'll personally slap $50 on the bar for the two guests.

There's undeniably great honour in wearing the colours of your footy team, but there is no greater honour or courage shown than wearing the uniform of your country in the theatre of war.

All of us should be eternally grateful to the sacrifices made by our Diggers.

If this comes off, I'm hoping ALL of our CSSC brothers and sisters will do the right thing and make these very special guests very welcome and show them and exceptionally good and dignified time.
