Both Flanagan and Aiton are good players for sure, and if either one turns out to be as good for us as de Gois was then I will be very happy.
Well infact the two, DeGois and Flanagan come from the same stable and trainer, Wests Tigers and Tim Sheens.
When Farrah was showing signs of back injury Sheens elected to keep Flanagan and De Goise came to us. Unfortunately for Flanagan though Farrah came through his injury patch and Flanagan was relegated to the Regies. Hence his move to the Raiders.
Won't bother comment on the insestuous relationships between the Raiders board, management and coach.....but obviously Flanagan didn't fit in down there, and by all accounts lost a great deal of confidence in himself.
I've always a lot of respect for and thought that Sheens is a pretty good coach. Our own coach was once coached by Sheensy as well remember. I think that if Sheens though he has the stuff that Hookers are made of I'd respect that judgement.
I think that given the opportunity he will make us an excellent #9.
