Just heard the end of it about 10mins ago. All I heard was him saying we have about 34 full time, 27 who have played NRL. And Joel Caine complimenting how sharp he is. I’m sure it will be on the podcast clips soon

He did a Podcast with Toohey the Newcastle journalist a few years ago, I think between when he left the Knoughts and joined us.

Good listen but no Sharks content

You can listen to the Mooney interview here: https://cms.megaphone.fm/channel/NTETP8589066320

A lot of random questions, nothing in real detail
  • Said they didn't plan on signing AFB, AFB's manager approached the Sharks, we didn't think we'd have enough money but worked it out
  • His gut feeling is that Atkinson will stay, given we backed him and he loves Cronulla. But obviously it's a close call
  • Las Vegas: said all the teams are staying in Resort Worlds, the two away teams are in the Hilton, and the two home teams are in the one next door
  • Joel Caine predicted Callum Grantham will one day be the NRL leading point-scorer.
  • Kade Dykes - still in rehab, not running yet.
  • Said he never saw the coach more disappointed than after the finals loss
  • Nicho - doesn't return to training until 6th of December, but been back doing some extras.
  • Predicted AFB will be good for whole team. The young forwards, Nicho, Tricky, Kennedy, Brailey.
  • Top 30 not quite sorted, but happy with what we've got. Don't need to fill it until Round 1. Not really in the market.... if something pops up, we might have a look at it.

That’s a huge call. I’ve never heard of him, anyone on here seen him play?

Yeah they were mainly referring to his goal-kicking, said he's a bit like Burton. But also a very good all-round player.

I guess Joel Caine was one of the leading point scorers of his time....

Edit: And sorry, I meant like one of the top point scorers of each season, not necessarily all-time.

Thanks mate, this was a really good listen. First time I've listened to them.

Massive hats off to them for doing this.

A bit ordinary Sharkcast haven't done something similar given how much they say they love the Sharks.
I love the Sharks. I have less than zero interest in NRLW.

I was similar, mainly due to not being able to squeeze what felt like a whole other sport into the schedule... SC was more than enough extracurricular activity! But after getting to watch a few games I'm really looking forward to the next season. The actual footy's great.

Yeah, I love that it is having the success that it is. I hope I am in the minority. But I only have so much time to watch footy and I’m going to spend it watching the best of the best and that is the NRL. Same reason I don’t watch Reggie’s or the pommy league, it’s inferior.
