i get to a few

my nan lives in miranda so i have a place to stay but i have 4 kids and thats makes it a bit harder to the games

I understand how hard it is with 4 kids, as I have 4 as well. Luckily a couple of them are late teens with jobs so they either have to work on the weekend or want to stay home and surf the net while we go to the game, so that cuts down the expenses somewhat.

We also stay with my sister at Cronulla,so that helps a great deal as well. I'm not sure we would be able to get to many games if we didn't have free accomodation.

Being so far away you and I could easily make excuses as to why we can't attend any games, as the distance and expense is a genuine obstacle. It annoys me greatly, however, when those who are local don't summon the energy to drag their butts to the game when it is so easy and convenient for them to do so.

They really need to get out there and support the team, rather than watch on the tv or catch the result on the news. It's a lot more fun, a much better atmosphere, extra revenue for the club and who knows, the extra noise may be the difference between a victory or loss.

Just spreading the word.

I spoke to a guy from South Austalia who is a Sharks fan, so I'm sending some stickers and a membership booklet down and over to him.

Wore my 2010 member's jersey to the shops today and the lady at Myers goes "my name, my husband's name and my son's name is on that jersey! And we signed up for membership again next year too!"

Hey Capital, that was my missus. I too wear my sharks gear around all the time, be it either a cap, polo or jumper. Saw one bloke coming out of Rebel in Belconnen wearing a CSSC shirt, problem was he was gone quicker the N Gardiner. We travel up from Yass to all the home games as well. Small world hey :cheers

What a great little story :good:

Wouldn't it be nice if they could provide members who travel a very long distance to get to the games free parking in the parking area where the training fields are, as a small token to say thanks for your extra support.

that would open a pandoras box though i reckon.
as possibly I have sharkboy staying with me, if he has his licence he could drive the last 10 m and we park free.
but it is a nice gesture

If they were given to ticketed members only, it shouldn't be problem. How many would drive the distance anyway, I mean beyond the boundaries of the Sydney region.

I know there are a few members who do it on here and congrats to them.

That would be a nice gesture. An even nicer gesture would be free beer but that may not be a very financially sensible decision, given the beer swilling members in my group.
