I can say for a fact both the developer and builder tried to convince Sharks way back at the start to demolish club as there were so many unknowns.

It was a gamble which unfortunately didn't pay off.
What was the reason from our point of view for not starting from scratch? Wouldn’t a new building be better?

i think we dodged a bullet not building it like this tbh
not nearly enough seating for fans. you gotta have upper and lower ET all the way along

you could accommodate the rest of what they wanted and had more seating /more season tickets to sell

Cost and time

While this has blown out in both regards, imagine if we’d done full rebuild. We’d have another balmain leagues club

Only 1 that offered an amt @ $1200 weekly for 43sqm
I remember when I lived on the Gold Coast one of those little Lollie stands in the middle of where people walk in the shopping centre, was told his rent was $1200 a week. For literally a tiny little stand.

Would have thought Cronulla being such a popular spot - a retail store would cost an absolute fortune?

Leagues club floor diagrams included as part of recent licensing application….PDF attached. Nothing really visual but gives a bit of an idea, particularly of the ground floor level under Peter Burns Stand

Any updates on the leagues club? Do they think it will be done this year?
That's what they're saying but no clear date yet, think it's going to be second half of the year.

It does help that the shopping centre is nearly complete and looks like the apartments are done too. Get the feeling that the leagues club was de-prioritized over these unfortunately. Might be due to lack of access or something ?

Last update was Chairman's Address before Christmas:

In working with all parties, we look to have the roof complete in March 2024, the façade in May-July, with a club opening late in 2024.

My internet wasn’t loading the articles properly, thank you for sharing mate. Fingers crossed it’s open by the finals 🤞🤞

Rooms are from one-bedroom studio to 3-bedroom apartment, but none mention a view of the field as included.

For our first Friday night game, prices are from $418 for a studio.

For Rabbitohs Saturday night game on April 13, prices are from $306 to $1009. $908 for 3 bedroom apartment with 6 adults non-refundable.
